Warm rays of sunshine seeped through the thin spaces between my blue curtains into my room, accompanied by my annoying alarm which I had snoozed about five times. I groaned and sat up lazily. I looked around as though I expected to find another person in the room.Picking up my phone, I realized it was almost 10am, I jumped, remembering the agreement I had with Oscar to meet at 10:30 at a coffee shop downtown. Jesus! I was late in advance. Wait, the 'normal' me didn't give a damn about Oscar even less than a day ago, and here I was freaking out because I would be late? Where was my mind at?
Taking a quick bath, I pulled on a sweat shirt and a pair of black jeans, it was not a date or anything of that sort, so there was no need for any selective outfit. Plus I was too late to think about some outfit extraordinaire. I wanted to call Beth, for some last minute pep talk, but if I did, I wouldn't get there on time, besides, she didn't even know I was going to meet Oscar.
We hadn't even talked about the outing with Dave yet, so there was a double trouble and I knew she wouldn't have agreed that I met him, so I didn't call . Picking my purse, I headed out.
It wasn't a long distance which I was grateful for. Once I got to the door, I took in a deep breath and opened it.As if he had a feeling it was me, His head popped up the moment I opened the door, and damn! He was coated with morning freshness. For Oscar, the word cute was overrated, he was the embodiment of beauty. That was him, my Oscar....wait, what?!.. That was, well, just ... Oscar.
His hair was pulled into a ponytail and he had some strands hanging out in his face. He was in a plain blue shirt, my favourite colour, seriously? Of course it was intentional but what was he trying to prove? He had already ordered a lattè filled with ice cubes. It was still his favourite? Cool. He stood up immediately I got to his booth with his usual charm, his smile.
OSCAR'S POV
I had been waiting for almost thirty minutes, but for an unusual reason, I still believed she would show up, which I would have totally understood if she didn't. My hope was now hanging on a thread line. I wanted to text her, but then I decided against it, not wanting to put any kind of pressure on her.I felt she had moved on somehow, and yet coming to LA of all places told me she still had me in mind, either way, I knew I owed her a lot of explanation. I wasn't the best boyfriend, I knew that, but I had to make things right. I was awakened from my thoughts when I heard the door open and her perfect figure came through.
She was still the black beauty I knew, but a lot had changed within this last year. Her hair was more voluminous, she had become curvier, I bet she was just about 2cm taller, which she would totally disagree, but she had lost quite some weight, well, that was expected.
Lisa didn't have a lot of weight, but it was moderate. Her height was perfect though she always wished to get taller. She was so cute, I loved her whole figure but what intrigued me most were her calves, they were round and and so attractive.I couldn't keep my eyes off her, she's too gorgeous, even in her most casual appearance.
By the time she got to the booth, I was on my feet, my smile widened when she returned it. Her eyes travelled slowly to my hair, down to my shirt, her smile faded, but crept back when she met my eyes. "Hi" , I grinned
"Hey"
"Thanks for meeting me", I gestured for her to take a seat. As we sat facing each other, she placed both hands on the table, while she kept her gaze down.
"I'm sorry for the last time", she said
"No, it's fine, I get it", I said honestly, she nodded.Silence was beginning to overpower us till I cleared my throat, my gaze still on her. She met my gaze and pressed her lips into a thin line. Her eyes travelled down to my cup of lattè. "You still love it.", She smiled.
"Yeah, I do. Your favourite become my favourite for some time too" I chuckled but stopped when I saw her blank expression.
