9. NORMAL IS FINE

It was yet another Monday, with a chilly weather. It was my real first work day, but for an odd reason, I wasn't nervous this time. Partly because I had talked to Oscar which helped me lay some weight off me. I guess the other reason was because I had been there before.

I removed my coat when I entered the  reception. Walking briskly to Raya's desk, I greeted cheerfully. She returned my smile, she looked so calm, as if she wasn't surprised seeing me. "Lisa, I'm glad you're back, as usual, the boss asked of you", she said amusingly but tone down, wiggling her brow at me.

I couldn't help but find out what she knew. "Raya, you're being weird", I tried. She just smiled, "I'm just happy you're back Lisa", she said sincerely. So I decided leave it at that.
"Give me a minute", she said and typed something on her phone.

A few minutes later, Oscar was walking towards us, grinning as if he had just won a lottery. I straightened up and tried to smile. "Hello, Lisa"
"Hello", I was so itching to clear the strands of hair from his face, but I wouldn't dare.

"Shall we?", Directing his hand towards his office upstairs.
"Sure".
"Thank you Raya", he said and led me into the elevator. My heart palpitated as we stood side by side.

The silence in the elevator as we moved was overwhelming. We both looked straight ahead as though we were alone, but actually, we were breathing each other's air. "You look awesome", Oscar broke the silence, and turned to me.
"Thank you, so are you", he smiled.

When we got into his office, he gave me a seat. He rounded the table and took a seat opposite me. "I'm so glad you came Lisa, thank you"
"Don't mention it, I'm glad I came too", I smiled. Making a careful analysis, this was an opportunity I couldn't afford to lose, apparently, this company was the best of its kind in the city.

I wanted to be here, but I did not want to get into contact with Oscar. I knew it was impossible, but it was what I wanted. I told him exactly that. "That won't be a problem, this place is so huge, we might even not run into each other for a whole week..... Inasmuch as I want to see you, it's your decision and I respect that", he sounded so sincere, I felt guilty.

I nodded, "thank you". We spent a few more minutes going through my roles.  He then led me to my office. There were two huge compartments, with frosted glass doors and windows just like all the others. The first one was much more transparent. It led to the other. There was a short blond busily typing. She rose to her feet immediately she saw us, "Mr.Finer"
"Hello Franka, how are you?"
"I'm good, you?"
"I'm good too, you're gonna thank your stars today", they both laughed.
"I can see that", she said, directing her eyes at me.

She walked round the table and stood closer to us. "Here's Lisa, Lisa, meet you hardworking secretary, Franka".
Franka and I shook hands and said hello in unison.
"I've heard about you and I was anticipating your arrival, I'm glad you're finally here", Franka said.
"Oh..thanks, it's nice to meet you too".

We finally entered the inner office which was as big as my bedroom. There was a huge desk, with files perfectly arranged. The room felt cozy and welcoming, I loved it already.

Oscar took the files and indicated which each one was. As he talked, my eyes were just fixed on his lips. Those soft and salacious lips. They were always minty, other times they tasted like grapes. Right now, all I wanted to do was pull him closer and have a taste of either of them.

I slapped myself in the head. What was I thinking?? Oscar and I were so done. Plus, after everything, I didn't just expect my affection to rise for him again just like that, or his for me.

"Franka will take you through the rest....uh..and then, there will be a meeting at noon. You have to be introduced to everyone", I widened my eyes. "It's nothing big Lisa, and I'm certain they'll love you". I nodded. "Let me know if you need anything".
