"How was your exam baby?" My mom asked a bit too loud, I didn't blame her. Music was playing and Lizzie was holding the phone, the screen was unsteady which made me guess she was dancing. Mom was driving so she couldn't even see me.

"It was great mom, y'all hurry and come home, I miss you, I just got home though", I really wanted to go on the trip with them but I couldn't just forfeit my exam.

Lizzie turned the phone so I could see only her and Hailey, who was busily devouring her ice cream, I just laughed. "You missed a lot girl, you should have seen mom skiing" , I heard all of them laughing, which definitely meant mom was a disaster there, "I'll send you all the videos after this."

"How was all the jogging and morning workouts ?"
"Talk of jogging, I thought someone was bragging about being the best runner?", She threw herself on Hailey in an uncontrollable laughter with her long braids all over her face.
"Leave your mom alone, Liz" , my dad defended.

"And why is dad playing the defence?? Let the woman speak", she said still laughing, with Hailey backing her up," Lisa you should have seen mom, we didn't even cover 1kilometre and she was already dying", we all laughed.
"My breakfast was just not enough, they told me if I ate a lot I couldn't run, but I promise if I had eaten a little more I'd have outrun all of you", mom said in her defense.

My mom and I were like the eaters of the house, leave the two of us in the house alone for three days and the fridge would be empty. As twins, one would expect Lizzie and I to be the same but she was rather a very light eater, my dad too. Hailey was one big green snake under green grass, she pretended not to like food, but in reality, she was a sinner just like mom and I. As for my dad, his story wasn't even explainable, he ate so little I wondered if he had been low on serotonin since his childhood.

"That's a lie, we all know that, and mom, seriously, you were determined to lose weight after this trip, but I'm not seeing any difference", Lizzie was bent on teasing mom forever .

The camera was on mom now, so I could see the road too, I felt like I was travelling with them. "We'll be at the airport in a few minutes," she turned to mom, "mom, can you go a little faster? We might miss the flight if you don't", and then back to me, "be there on time young lady. See you on the other side." She made a stern face. Lizzie was just a whole mood.

"Sure ma'am, right on time.Bye y'all, get home safe, love you!!"

"Love you baby", mom and dad said in unison.

" hate you too!", Of course, Hailey and Lizzie. We all laughed, and then the screen went off.
.................................
Instead of getting ready to go pick them up, I was so engrossed in a movie, until my phone rang." Beth , What's up?"

"Lisa hey, have you seen the news?", She didn't sound so good, like terrified. For a very strange reason, my stomach churned.

" The news??"

I hurriedly turned on the TV, and what I was not in the least expecting met me,

"...the accident occurred around 01:00pm today, as the aeroplane---" the news anchor read.

I couldn't believe neither my eyes nor ears. My palm got all sweaty. I felt dark haze clouding my sight as I gently and carefully walked to the nearest pillar. I needed something to keep me steady lest I fell.

"What?!!" I bet my scream could be heard yards away. Tears pricked down my cheeks and I felt numbness all over my body. It was like cold water had been poured on me , just then, darkness clouded me.
