He's Taken - Jaden Hossler

We walked hand in hand down the street, smiling to each other as we discussed the events of this night. Jaden - my best friend since high school - has taken me out with his other friends, promising me it would be fun.  He lived up to his promise, it was fun, the night just didn't run that smoothly. His friends Bryce Hall and Nick Bean got a little too drunk and almost started a fight, but Jaden and I made a swift exit before anything bad happened. 

We laughed as we got closer and closer to his apartment, we weren't drunk just a little tipsy - meaning I would stay at Jaden's since i couldn't drive back to mine. "Did you hear Nick?" I asked, laughing at the fond memory of our friend dancing on those poor girls table. Jaden burst out laughing, nodding his head tripping over a little making me gasp and catch him - which just made us laugh even more. "Why thank you m'lady" He said, taking a bow and reaching for my hand, which I graciously took and we continued our journey. 

"For fuck sake" Jaden swore, sobering up for a minute. "What?" I asked, looking at him a little worriedly. "You know that obsessive ex I never let you meet" He spoke bluntly making me think the worst. "Yea" I said hesitantly, looking around when I spotted a brunette at the door to his apartment building. "Save me" He turned to me, desperation in his eyes. "Go talk to her, get rid of her but if things go wrong I'll swoop in" I smiled, pushing him forward as motivation. "You aren't starting a fight with her, no matter how annoying she is" He pointed before walking off making me roll my eyes and follow close behind, so I could still hear their conversation. 

"Baby" The girl said, going in to hug him. "Hey Mads, what are you doing here?" He asked, denying her hug which made me laugh. Of course she was desperate to have him back, Jaden is hot, not that he knows I think that - were just friends, right. "Bubs we can work this out, I know we weren't perfect and we made mistakes but I love you" This Mads girl confessed, making me slightly jealous. Of course I have feelings for Jaden, but I wasn't going to ruin our friendship okay.

But I could always just play the part. 

I heard Jaden struggling, so like I said, I swooped in. I broke the heel off my shoe and took the shoe off. "Babe" I shouted coming round the corner to where the other two stood. "My heel broke" I sighed looking up to him, he looked at me confused but soon caught on.  "They were my favourite pair" I mumbled, slightly true that I ruin a perfectly good pair of shoes for this. "Princess it's fine" Jaden said playing along with the part, and even though we were acting I felt myself blush. "We can go tomorrow and buy a new pair" He winked at me, telling me it was true and he'd make it up to me. 

"Um hi" Mads interrupted in a bitchy tone. "Hi" I said nicely, turning my attention to her. Jaden circled his hand round my waist making a warmth spread though me at his tattooed arm touching the exposed skin poking through my dress. "Who are you sorry" I asked, smiling to her. "I'm Mads" She smiled back, but in a more bitchy way then actually manners. I shook my head, acting as though I didn't know who 'Mads' was. "The girlfriend" She said smiling sarcastically, as though she thought she had won. "Ex" Jaden added in a whisper, making me smile up to him. 

"Who are you then?" She asked, thinking I'd freeze up and stutter - or lie, little did she know all this was fake. "The love of his life" I smiled, answering quickly making Jaden's grip on my waist tighten and a smile form on his face. However, Mads face was one of disgust. "I don't believe this for a second. She's the best friend I heard about" She turned to Jaden, figuring it out and laughing. "The one you said you only ever saw as a friend." She smirked, breaking my heart a little as I tried to remain happy. 

"You're right" Jaden spoke, making me look up to him as if to say 'you fucking idiot you were almost free'. "She was my best friend, and will always be. That was before you broke my heart and she picked up the pieces." He spoke, turning to face me instead. "She put my heart back together, and has kept it ever since." he smiled tucking a strand of hair behind my ear before turning back to Mads. "and in those two years that you were dropping in and out of my life, my heart stayed with her and she hasn't broke it yet." He confessed making it almost convincing.
