"Is everybody ready?" asked Ms. Lee with a big smile, which somehow scared Yuri.
"Yuri, dear, today we're going to show you how this 'training lesson' works."
She pointed at a tree nearby. "You see this tree? Can you make it bend?"
It was a very weird question to ask, but Yuri understood that Ms. Lee wanted her to use her powers.
She nodded, then turned to the tree. She lifted up her hand, then moved it like she was pushing something down.
The tree bent, but for just two seconds, like a bow.
The boys seemed impressed, but Ms. Lee frowned.
"Can you hold it down longer?"
"No. I haven't done this for five years."
Ms. Lee raised her eyebrows.
"Well, don't worry. You're going to do a lot more frequently, now that you're here."
She turned to Junghwan.
"Last week, we tried to do 3 laps in a second. Today, let's add 3 more laps, shall we?"
Junghwan hesitated, then nodded. He turned to the exit of the garden, then ran out. In almost a second, he was back.
"Three laps around the Academy," whispered Yedam to Yuri. The latter tried not to show her surprise, but in vain.
Ms. Lee was not impressed at all. She looked at Mashiho and said, "Now, rewind back to when Junghwan entered the garden."
Mashiho drew an anti-clockwise circle with his hand in the air, and everybody saw Junghwan re-enter the garden.
"But I don't understand how improving our powers could help us control them," said Yuri.
"If you're good at using your power, you understand it. So you control it," explained Hyunsuk.
"Now, Yuri, I need you to defend yourself," Ms. Lee turned to Yuri.
Yuri hardly had the time to realize what her teacher had said to when, suddenly, she felt a tornado approaching her. It was really weird because the tornado appeared from nowhere.
It lifted her up, and she began to fly up, circling round and round. It was most uncomfortable. Yuri couldn't understand a thing, but it suddenly came to her mind that if Ms. Lee asked her to defend herself, it was her doing. She tried to remember who had the ability to control the weather.
Yes, she got it! Jaehyuk!
She rolled her hand into a fist and clenched it.
She then came down slowly.
Jaehyuk had vines wrapped around his whole body, and thorns were starting to appear.
Yuri quickly loosened her fist, thus freeing Jaehyuk from the grip of those vines, and sending the vines back underground.
The others smiled at her, really impressed. Yuri was still very shocked but felt encouraged by the smiles.
She turned to Jaehyuk, and said:
"Sorry for wrapping you and all!"
"Well, I whooshed you away, so it's fair enough," assured Jaehyuk, with his "oh-so precious" smile which melted Yuri's heart.
Ms. Lee snapped, "Can't you defend yourself correctly? Did you see those thorns on that plant?"
Yuri was surprised, but also angry. Who did this woman think she was?
"I told you I didn't have any practice! Why would you attack me suddenly?" she yelled.
Ms. Lee widened her eyes, then cleared her throat.
"So you really don't have any experience, huh!"
She said this with a tone of disgust in her voice, which Yuri disliked, but didn't say anything. She knew that her parents taught her good manners, and she wasn't going to ruin all of that for a mere misunderstanding.
"What a bitch!" she thought, which Jeongwoo immediately heard and noted in his mind to never mess with Yuri.
"Never mind! We'll look into that later. Now, let's go back to the building, it's already getting dark."
Ms. Lee headed for the exit, followed by the others. Yuri, as usual, was the last. Asahi walked with her.
"You okay? You seem pale," Asahi seemed worried.
"Well, no offense, but your teacher is very weird."
Asahi smiled. "I know she's severe, but she's not that bad."
"If you say so."
"Hey, now school's finished. Wanna play hide-and-seek?"
Yuri laughed, "Isn't it supposed to be a kids' game?"
"Well, yeah, except, with powers!"
"Cool!"
When Ms. Lee was gone, everybody gathered at the living room.
After a game of rock-paper-scissors, the seeker was to be Mashiho. The others hurried out of the room, while he counted to 100.
The Academy was quite big, so everybody had rather a hard time choosing where to hide.
Yuri looked around the classrooms, then decided that the science lab would be a good idea.
She searched the whole room, then thought that the really big cupboard in the corner was the perfect place to hide.
She went inside, closed the door, and sat down, thinking that she would definitely not lose this game.
Little did she know somebody else was hiding in there too.
