Chapter 20

"Guys! Look what I found!"

The others rushed to see what it was.

"So, he's been hiding here the whole time!" exclaimed Jisoo.

"What should we do next? I mean, who goes first?" asked Yedam.

"Me!"

"I volunteer!"

Junkyu and Jihoon had spoken together. They looked at each other, and there was an awkward pause.

"No, I'm going first. This has all been because of me, anyways," said Jisoo pushing the others aside.

They didn't dare to contradict her, so they let her get inside.

She saw only two buttons in the elevator, one for going up, and the other down. She had no choice but to push the one for going underground.

Yuri's POV

I had never been this scared in my whole life as I was now. I saw Jiwon, with Ms. Lee beside him, but I decided to ignore the looks on their faces and yell:

"Where is Doyoung?"

"It wouldn't matter anymore, would it? All your friends are gonna die anyways," said Jiwon, with an absolutely disgusting smirk.

I felt anger rising in me, but tried to not let it affect me. 

I was weak my whole life. But now that I have these incredible friends, which are like my new family, I have something that he doesn't. I can defeat him, because I am the most powerful magical being, not him. 

So, I said, "You are a nasty person, Jiwon-ssi. You will never get what you wanted, not like this. You tortured your wife, betrayed the only friends you will ever have, and now you're expecting to rule the Earth? By being immortal? By being the darkest being? You have just destroyed yourself, nothing else!"

My long speech had visibly irritated him, but he snickered, and spoke up.

"That's all? That's all the bad things I've ever done? Don't forget the tires, dear!"

I turned pale. Tires? What tires? What was he talking about?

"You know, the tires on the wheels of your father's car! Did you really think your parents died accidentally?"

I held back my tears. The man in front of me had murdered my parents, and he was going to murder my friends too. 

I yelled, "You are an absolute asshole, Kim Jiwon!"

He came forward and slapped me, making my cheek burn.

"Just shut up already! All you need to do is sit quietly until the sun sets, that's all! Is it really that difficult?" He literally spat the words out.

Suddenly, I heard Doyoung's voice, and then there was a loud crash. What a relief, he's alive!

Jisoo's POV

When the elevator's doors opened, the hallway I saw in front of me was really dark and cold. But I could see that there were a few closed doors on both sides of the corridor.

Assuming that one of them contained either Yuri or Doyoung, I turned invisible, then lightly knocked on each door.

After knocking on the third door, I suddenly heard Doyoung voice from inside the room.

"Help me!"

I tried the doorknob, but it was really stupid of me to think it would be open! I had no idea how to open the door, when I heard footsteps behind me. When I turned around, to my relief, it was Haruto! Thank goodness they had sent him first!

I reappeared and said, "Hey, Haruto! Doyoung is behind this door, can you break it?"

"Piece of cake! Step aside, noona!"

He came forward, and punched the door knob, which instantly broke, and the door opened.

No one's POV

"What the hell was that?!" shouted Jiwon, widening his eyes. He signaled Chaerin to go see what had happened.

But before she turned to go, Jisoo, Haruto, and Doyoung had come in.

"Jiwon, stop. It's not gonna work, you know!" Jisoo said.

"Oh really? Chaerin, get them!"

She did as she was told to do. She pulled out a knife, and ran towards the others, but of course she was nothing against their powers.

Yuri tried to escape from Jiwon's grasp, but he was really strong. Much stronger than her. She needed sunlight for her powers to work, and that place was the farthest from sunlight.

When the others were busy with Chaerin, he quickly pulled her away into another room.

"Okay, now, be a good girl, and sit still." He tied her to a chair.
