Doyoung's POV
With all the tense atmosphere lingering in the living room, I felt suffocated, so I decided to go up to my room for some rest. I still can't believe somebody would be inhuman enough to kill Yuri noona for immortality! That's just stupid! If somebody gave me that power I'd totally wanna share it with my loved ones or not take it at all. What's the point in living forever if it's not with somebody you love?
While climbing the staircase, I felt like collapsing but I just ignored the feeling, thinking that it's just because I didn't sleep well. Reaching my bedroom, I open the door, only to get the biggest shock: Ms. Lee was standing by the open window beside my bed. I figured the window was her entrance, as she has power of flying.
"Oh, Ms. Lee!" I exclaimed, "When did you get here? Where's Jiwon hyung?"
She looked at me, and I felt chills running down my spine. I never really liked her, and now certainly not.
"Oh, hi Doyoung-ah! Is Yuri okay now?" she asked, ignoring my question.
I replied, "Yes, noona's just downstairs in the living room with everybody. Do you want to talk to her?"
She ignored me again and said, "How come you're here all alone?"
Feeling a little uneasy, I answered, "Well, I wasn't feeling good."
"Oh that's a pity," she smirked, and came forward. Not knowing what to say, I looked around and avoided her eyes.
She went on, "Tell me, Doyoung-ah, do you care about your Yuri noona?"
I frowned and replied, "Sure, she's a really good friend."
She reached in her pockets and pulled out a handkerchief, and whispered:
"Well, you're about to face the consequences!"
Suddenly, she pressed the handkerchief against my nose so fast, that I didn't even have the time to fight back before I smelled something very sweet, and started feeling all light and floaty. My vision became blurry, and Ms. Lee, who by now looked just like an 8-bit game character, put some kind of dark bag over me.
As I was too numb to feel anything, the last thing I heard before passing out was the fabric of the bag brushing against something.
No one's POV
Yuri pushed open the door, only to find the window open and a piece of folded paper on the bedside table. She opened it and read it. Her face became pale. She rushed down to show it to the others.
"Hey, guys! You need to see this!"
She waved the paper at them, and gave it to Jisoo. She read it out loud.
"Hey, guys! I expect you found Jisoo? Yeah, sorry, I lied! She's innocent I guess! Well, no time to talk about that, there are more important things. I have Doyoung now, so I think you know what'll happen if you don't listen to me... It's easy, just send Yuri. Alone. In the forest.
Jiwon."
Everybody was shocked. Especially Hyunsuk, as he thought he knew Jiwon more than everybody else, like a close friend. Maybe even like a brother.
Jisoo sighed. The boys turned to her and apologized silently. They were all too surprised to utter actual words.
Junghwan was close to tears.
"What's going to happen now, hyung?" He turned to Hyunsuk.
The latter replied, "We've got to be really careful."
Asahi spoke up, "Actually the proof was always in front of us. You know how every evening he vanishes, saying he has something important to do? That's actually him going to the cave for the Elixir."
Mashiho gasped. "That means he wants to extract the power from Yuri, but in order to do that, he has to kill his loved one."
He looked at Jisoo. The latter laughed mockingly, to his surprise.
"You think he loves me? Um-hello! He tried to kill me!"
"Sorry, noona."
Yedam turned to Yuri.
"Yah, you need to be careful. That demon will do anything to get you!"
She smiled. She knew that, but if Doyoung's life was at stake, she would definitely do whatever she needed to do to ensure his safety. Even die.
Jisoo spoke up.
"Here's what I suggest. You all take some rest tonight, and tomorrow I'll go with Yuri to the forest. Jeongwoo has to stay in contact with my mind, and hopefully you all can hide near the forest. And when I give the signal to him, you all will have to hurry and come. There's no use in going now, because Jiwon wouldn't be able to cast the spell cuz it's dark outside. He has to do it tomorrow."
The others listened and agreed.
While everybody was heading back to their bedrooms, Junkyu and Yuri were the only ones in the room.
He went towards Yuri and said, "Hey, I got something to tell you."
"Huh? Oh, what is it?"
"Well, um, you know how I become awkward sometimes while talking and it might seem like I'm not even thinking before talking? Well, that's cuz I get all clumsy and weird whenever I come in front of you."
"What do you mean?"
"There's this feeling I've always ignored. But I can't do it anymore. Kang Yuri, I like you."
