It had been nearly 2 weeks since I had met Riley, and us girls were planing another one of our usual trips to the mall. For 2 weeks now he and I have been talking and I have defiantly begun to like him. He is so charming and sweet, and those eyes. I swear to god his eyes are glass they are so blue.
"Nichole!" My best friend Lucy said loudly while waving her hand in front of my face.
"What?" I replied as I slapped her hand away and gave her a board expression.
"Well, lets see, we were in the middle of a conversation" she said as she put her finger on her chin like she was thinking hard "and you randomly checked out and got this funny look on your face." She scrunched her nose and made a thinking hard face continuing to mock me.
I smirked and then laughed at her lame attempt to portray me.
"When will you ever learn, my dear Lucy, that no one can ever portray my beauty?" I said sarcastically while speaking with a funny accent and trying to keep a straight face.
She snorted from laughter and I joined her as we both burst out laughing.
Lucy was a pretty average girl. Long bright red hair with green eyes that sparkled and thousands of freckles on her face. I remember the day we met like it was yesterday, even though it was years ago. It was our freshman year of high school. She was the most shy person in the class and I was the loudest. She was the embodiment of a girl with her curled hair, painted nails, her summer dress and heels. I was one of the guys, a poster child for the term tomboy. Who would have known we would become the closest best friends on the world. It was just last year that I decided to tell her about what I would become and, what my family is. In the short 3 years we had known each other we had become inseparable and I couldn't bare to keep the secret from her any longer. She took the news really well. Its not like humans find out about the supernatural world all the time so it was good to see her accept it, and me, almost without batting an eye, and f it were even possible we became even closer.
"So what where you thinking about?" She said as she poked me in the side and smirked pulling me out of my thoughts.
"The stock market in china" I said casually as I rolled my eyes and tried to hide my huge smile while pretending to inspect my nails.
Next thing I know a pillow is flying at my head and I quickly duck my head with my face buried in the bed but I wasn't fast enough and ended up with my head sandwiched between the bed and a pillow. As I sat up and glared at her, blowing my hair out of my face, my eyes got wide and I noticed she had grabbed my phone and began going through my text messages. I quickly snatched it from her hands but by the look on her face I knew it was to late and I wasn't guna hear the end of this for a very long while.
