Riley POV
------------------------
I woke up with a splitting headache and everything was sore. I know now what they mean when people say they feel like they were hit by a train. Every muscle was aching and sore and, it hurts. I open my eyes slowly and looked to see I was laying on a table in what looks like a makeshift clinic. I try to sit up but someone quickly puts their hand on my chest keeping me down. I wince as I look to see who is in the room with me but I only saw a lady in a white lab coat standing over me at the table I'm currently on. She starts checking my vitals but I pushed her away from me.
"Whats going on?" I say. I'm still a little groggy and disoriented but squinting I finally took in all my surroundings only to notice the room had plain cold cement walls and the room was very dimly lit besides the few lamps that were pointing at me and a flashlight the lady was holding.
"Where am I?" I said as I began to panic realizing I don't know where I am or how I got here. I sat up and winced at a sharp pain in my head.
"What happened?" I continued gripping my head in my hands as if to stop the headache.
My rapid fire of questions remained unanswered as I sat there on the table watching the lady closely as she walks over to another table in the room and started writing something down.
"Alpha" she said respectfully once she finished whatever it was that she had been doing. she walked back over to where I was.
"Alpha you need to stay calm, everything is okay I just need to check a few more things" she said and I looked at her puzzled. Who is she calling Alpha? I'm the only other person here.
"What happened" I asked her again.
"What do you remember?" She asked and I frowned as I tried to recall.
"I don't remember anything" I said and then panic really started to set in.
"Why are you calling me Alpha?" I asked her and I saw her face change to a very worried expression.
"You were struck by lightning" she said as she again continued to look me over.
"Do you not remember that?" She asked as she shone a flashlight into my eyes.
"Lightning" I said alarmed. "No, I don't remember that at all" I stated.
She walked back over to her notebook and I took the opportunity to make a run for the door on the other side of the room. As I burst through the door I heard her yelling for me to stop and come back but My feet kept moving as I ran down a dark hallway. As I reached the end of the hallway I turned into what was another room where I immediately recognized my parents and Jason sitting in some chairs. I quickly rushed to them hugging them tight.
Mom, Dad, Jason we need to get out of here. I think we have been abducted" I said hurriedly as I rushed to the far side of the room to search for another door that might lead me out of this dark cold cement building. They all stared at me with concern written all over their faces. The lady in the lab coat appeared at the door way and walked over to where my parents stood. She looked like she was discussing something serious with them but my still slight disorientation didn't allow me to focus enough to hear what she was saying. When she finished my parents looked distressed but didn't move from where they were. The lady turned and again began slowly approaching me.
"Alpha it's okay please calm down and come back to the other room with me. I need to finish the check up to make sure everything is okay" she said pleading with me.
"I don't understand" I said puzzled. "How did I get struck by lightning and why can't I remember anything" I questioned. The panic had now turned into fear and confusion.
"Son" my father spoke up and it calmed me a little to hear his voice. "We think the strike may have caused you to have amnesia" he said. I could here the pain in his voice as he said it.
I froze in my spot staring at the floor for a long while as what my father just told me sunk in though all the confusion.
"When will I remember again?" I finally broke the silence as I looked up at him and then looked at the lady in the white coat. They exchanged looks before the lady cleared her throat and spoke up.
"We are not really sure Alpha" she said hesitantly as she looked down.
"What do you mean? I will remember eventually right?" I said with a slightly desperate tone in my voice.
"At this point there is no way to know" she finished.
I looked over at my parents, mom was crying with her hand over her mouth, dad stood next to her squeezing her shoulder and looking at me sadly. Jason who up until now had just stood in the background watching this all lay out was now walking towards me and embraced me in a hug. I had to sit down. The world was spinning out of control and I couldn't do anything but stand there and watch as it happened.
