My Mistake-Corbyn Besson

Part 5

I pulled up to our house and got out going inside. Sofia went the hallway closet to look for the journal she was talking about. We had found back when our parents passed away and decided to store it in the closet. I went up to my room and started on my homework but quickly got bored. I went back downstairs and saw Liam about to walk out. "Liam, where are you going?"

"I'm going to the cabin by the lake." He replied.

"Can i go? I need a break from school. People just get on my nerves. A break at the cabin will be good for me." I asked.

"I wasn't planning on staying but if your sure you will be fine there by yourself then yes you can go."he said.

"Thank you! I'll go pack a bag and i'll be back soon." I ran upstairs grabbing a small duffel bag before quickly putting some clothes in it. I ran back downstairs to the front door where Liam was. "Sofia!" She walked over to us. "I'm gonna be staying at the cabin for a day or two. Will you be fine getting to school without me?"

"Yeah, i'm gonna need your keys so i can drive there though." She said. I pulled the keys out of pocket and handed them to her.

"I swear if you crash my car your buying me a new one." I say laughing a little.

"I won't crash it. I hope you have fun at the cabin even though your gonna be by yourself." She chuckled a little.

I hugged her and then Liam and I walked outside to his car. We drove to the cabin in silence but it wasn't awkward at all. All you could hear was the humming of the engine as we drove along the road.

After about half an hour we arrived at the cabin. We walked inside and i set my stuff an the couch. Liam instantly went upstairs. "I left something here the last time i stayed. The reason i came here was to get it so i'll be back down shortly." He said as he walked the rest of the way upstairs.

It's been about twenty minutes since Liam went upstairs to get the thing he forgot and he still hasn't come back stairs. My curiosity got the best of so I stood up and went to look for him. The first room i checked was the room Sofia and i would sleep in when we stayed here but i didn't find. I checked in his room and once again couldn't find him. The last room up here was the master bedroom. I haven't been in there since my parents passed. It was gonna bring back some memories but i had to see if Liam was in there. I walked in and looked around but didn't see him anywhere. I opened the closet and again i didn't see him. I know he didn't leave because his car is still parked out front and i can't find him anywhere up here.

I decided to just go back downstairs to make sure he didn't actually leave. When i looked out the window i could still see his car parked out front. That's weird. He's not anywhere in the cabin but he hasn't left yet. I sat back on the couch and waited for him to come back down. After about 20 minutes he came back downstairs. "Well that took longer than i thought it would," I say laughing.

"Yeah it took longer than i thought it would to find but i've got it now and i'm gonna head home. Are you sure you're gonna be ok here by yourself?" He asked.

"I'll be fine. Pick me up Friday morning. I'll have someone drop some food off for me tonight." I say pushing him towards the door.

"Ok, i'll see you in a few days." He laughed a little before closing the door and leaving.

When he had come downstairs he came out of the master bedroom so i made my way there. He had to be hiding something from me and that's why i couldn't find anything. I figured it would probably be hidden in the closet so i went there turning on the light. I felt around the walls for anything that might feel off but couldn't find anything. Although part of the wall was bowed in more than the rest. I knocked on the and it sounded hollow. Just to make sure i was crazy i knocked on a different part of the wall and it sounded normal. I went out of the room and found something i could use to get the wood off the wall. Fortunately my parents always keep a crowbar in the closet out by the kitchen for emergencies. I don't know why an emergency would need a crowbar but that's what my parents told me.
