My Mistake-Corbyn Besson

Part 4

I woke up this morning feeling better than i have in a while. I was genuinely happy. I don't know what caused it but i feel amazing like i can accomplish anything. As i got out of the shower i got a call from Wesley. My smile instantly faded. I still haven't been able to process the fact that he's a vampire but if he's calling i know it's important. I picked up my phone and answered his call putting it up to my ear. "Hello," i said, "Is this good news or bad news?"

"Both. Good news is i found the boys. Bad news is, is that you're right about them being vampires. I slipped vervain into their drinks and they all ended up coughing as if they were chocking on it. I'm still with them but there in the other room. They can probably hear me right now so i should probably go," he answered.

"Wait, don't hang up yet... Thank you Wesley. I know you didn't expect this to happen but thank you for telling me," I replied.

"I'll do anything for you Madison. I want you to know that." He said before hanging up.

I smiled and went downstairs. "Good morning Liam!"

"What's got you in such a good mood?" He asked laughing.

"I don't know. I just feel amazing today." I replied. "I should probably get going to school. Where's Sofia?"

"She left with a friend a few minutes ago." He smiled and left. When i got to school everyone was outside waiting for the bell to ring. I felt a presence behind me and turned around to see Wesley standing there. "Hey!" I said with a smile.

"Hi," he smiled back, "I forgot to say this last night but be careful who you let in the house. A vampire can't get in unless you invite them in. After they've been invited in once the can come and go as they please."

"Noted. That explains why the first time you came to my house you walked in slowly when i let you and the guys in. And at the Lawley Mansion when Kian let us in." I said.

"Yeah i don't mean to make it obvious but if your not invited in there's an invisible wall so if i try walking in normally i'll hit that wall." He laughed a little. I saw the new boys walk up to the school.

"Hold on i'll be back." I say.

"Where are you going?" Wesley asked.

"To talk to them. They need to we aren't threats. If you hear anything off then come after me." He nodded and walked over to them. Fortunately no one was around them that would think it's weird if i asked to speak with them. "Hey, we need to talk. It's important."

"Ok, what do you need to talk about" Corbyn asked.

"We can't talk here. There's to many people that might hear. Follow me." I say. They nodded and followed behind as i walked over to the football field.

"Ok, no one should hear us here. What did you want to talk about?" Jonah asked.

"Well firstly i want to apologize for yesterday. I left abruptly and didn't even give the real reason as to why. And secondly i know your secret. Before you freak out or try to act like you don't know what i'm talking about i'm gonna keep it. I know that if i say something the founding families will kill you or they just won't believe me. I know the risk i've put myself in by finding out and keeping it from the founding families because i'm pretty sure there's a secret council specifically for hunting others like you in Arlington Heights but i don't care. No one should have to die as long as you aren't hurting anyone."

"So what all do you know?" Daniel asked.

"Most of what you guys should know by now. I know that you turned recently with in the last year or so. I know your weaknesses and how to kill you but hopefully i never have to use either. Also i'm wearing vervain so don't try to compel me because it won't work."

"Hold on, how did you find out?" Jack questioned.

"Well it was more of a team effort. Sam got this feeling of death when he shook your hands yesterday and Colby felt the same thing when he touched Wesley about a week and a half ago. I had Wesley find out where you were to try and find out if you were when he told me everything last night. He called me this morning confirming the theory."

"Hold Wesley's a vampire too? And what are Sam and Colby?"

"Yes Wesley's been a vampire for a while now. About 150 years now. And Sam and Colby are witches. Well they prefer the term warlock but yeah. Apparently they can sense if someone's a vampire. I think it's the energy that you give off but i don't know. When were you turned?"

"Last summer. We got in a car accident and the hospital in our town apparently uses vampire blood in their medical practices. I don't know how we died but the doctor is who gave us the blood." Corbyn answered.

"The bell just rang, we should probably get to class. We can explain this more later but you have to promise not to tell Kian and Jc." Daniel said.

"I promise i won't. Your secret is safe with me." I replied. We walked back to the front of the school and went inside. Our first class was history.

"Hello class, welcome back. Today we will be talking about the history of Arlington Heights. Can anyone tell me when this town was founded?" Mr. Harrison asked. No one answered. "Madison do you know?"

"No, sorry Mr. Harrison." I answered.

"Wesley what about you?" He turned to him.

"1874" he replied.

"That's correct, thank you Wesley." Mr. Harrison said. "Now you may know the founding families now as some of the nicest people in town but what you don't know is that this town has a past with supernatural beings. You may be wondering what i'm talking about but during the late 1870's around the time Arlington Heights was founded there was suspected to vampires. Now obviously we can neither confirm nor deny that vampires exist. There was also said to be witches. The Golbach and Brock family lineage is actually said to be the families of witches that settled here. Have any of you founding family members heard stories of this?" Me, Wesley, and the boys raised our hands. "Good then you should be familiar with the stuff we are gonna go over today."

I looked over to Wesley a little confused but he had the same look on his face.

(I changed the year Wesley turned. I realized it don't fit with the story so he was turned in 1878)

After School

"Do any of you know what Mr. Harrison's interest in vampires is about?" I asked the group. Kian and Jc haven't meet up with us yet so we don't have to worry about them yet. Everyone shook their heads. We all saw Sofia coming over to us.

"Hey Madison, can you take me home? I have to find some of the old Nash journals that our ancestor Hendrix Nash wrote in. I need them for a report i'm doing to get some extra credit in history." she asked when she reached us.

"Yeah, here's the keys wait in the car for me." I say handing her the keys to my car. She takes them and walks off towards the car. "We need to figure out why Mr. Harrison was talking about vampires in class today. It's a very random subject to bring up especially in history."

"We'll figure it out it just might take us some time." Wesley said.

"Ugh, all this is this is just so crazy. I need a break from my real life. Like a vacation or something to get out of here. I'll see you guys tomorrow." I say as we group hug. I walk to my car and get in taking Sofia home.
