Chapter 9

Jo's pov

This time in Boston has taught me a few things. Number 1 where ever Hero is that is my home and number 2 I don't want to go to College. It's the second one that has my head spinning at night because if I don't go to College my parents will definitely not be supportive of that. Today we are having Thanksgiving and I am busy with Mercy as we woke up at the ass crack of dawn putting the Turkey in the oven and chopping and peeling the potatoes both regular and sweet, carrots, turnips and squash. "We're making the candied sweet potatoes yeah" Hero asks me coming in to the kitchen his hair still wet from his shower. "You mean we're making them" Mercy says sarcastically pointing to herself and me making me giggle. "This is our first time cooking a meal this big don't annoy us" I tell him teasingly. "Fine but I'll help if you want me too love" he says coming up behind me as he kisses my collarbone. "Get out of the kitchen now your distracting her" Mercy scowls at him as I almost drop the pan of potatoes placing them on the stove. "Warned you mate didn't I" Felix yells from the living room chuckling. "Fine I'll stay away" Hero says smiling at me as he kisses my cheek and I playfully swat his behind. "Gross" Mercy says smirking at me as I roll my eyes at her. We finish placing the brown sugar and marshmallows over the sweet potatoes and add them in the oven with the Turkey that I baste before closing the door. Everything else is boiling in pots and me and Mercy are sweaty and tired. "Think you two can manage to keep an eye on the food while we shower and change?" I ask Hero and Felix as they both have their head sets on their controllers in their hands as they play FIFA on the PS5 that he got as a birthday gift from his parents. "Hello did you hear her?" Mercy says irritably snatching the headset off of Felix's head as he yells out "damn baby what was that for." Hero looks up at me and takes his head set off as I have my hands on my hips glaring at him. "Sorry love did you need us?" he says nervously. "Yes asshat watch the food while we get decent before Chloe and Clay show up" Mercy says to him glaring at Felix. "And you better not let anything burn" I warn them as they both nod at us and me and Mercy head off to take a shower and change as we giggle. "God they are so whipped" Mercy whispers teasingly. "So are we" I remind her as she rolls her eyes grinning at me saying "uggh why are you always right." I laugh as we take turns showering and then both get dressed as I put on a tight fitting maroon dress that flares out at the bottom adding my white flats and putting a little make up on before curling my hair. Mercy wears a green dress that is made of lace and looks gorgeous on her making her green eyes stand out even more as she adds a little make up leaving her hair straight and putting on a pair of black heels. "You look beautiful sis" I tell her smiling as I spin her around. "You as well bestie" she says giggling. "Oi you guys almost ready I think the stuff is done" Hero says through the door. "Yeah we're coming" I say and he opens the door he's just wearing a black button up dress shirt and pair of jeans with his white air forces on but it's so utterly him that I smile not hiding the fact that I'm checking him out as he smirks at me his dimples popping out. "I'm just going to help Felix" Mercy says smiling as she looks at us and then goes out the room. "You look incredibly sexy baby" he says seductively coming towards me as he pulls me flush against his chest his hands running down my sides making me have goosebumps. "As do you" I say smiling up at him. "Oh I know love you practically undressed me with your eyes" he says cheekily. "Oh please" I say giggling but hey he's not lying. "Josephine get your ass in here Felix is screwing it all up" Mercy yells making me laugh as Hero rolls his eyes and grabs my hand as we walk down the small hallway into the kitchen. Me and Hero both look at the mess in front of us laughing our asses off as Felix pulls potatoes out of his hair. "Dude seriously you can't even mash potatoes" Hero laughs at him. "It was set to highest setting not my fault mate" Felix shakes his head chuckling. "Most people set it before they use it" I say teasingly grabbing the mixer out of his hand. The sound of the buzzer rings as Hero goes to answer it me and Mercy finish mashing and placing the side dishes in the glass bowls and platters we bought on the living room table while Felix goes to the bathroom to make sure all the potatoes are out of his hair. "It smells so delicious in here" Chloe says walking in with Clay as Hero takes their coats hanging them up on our rack by the door. "You girls did amazing" Clay says looking at the table in awe as I have Hero grab the Turkey placing it on the table near the head. "Thanks for joining us" I say giving them each a hug. "Thanks for having us" Chloe says smiling at us as we all take a seat. "Hero you think you can cut the Turkey without cutting yourself?" I ask him teasingly smirking at him. "I mean I might be able to manage it since it's not a mixer" he teases back as Felix rolls his eyes and me and Mercy laugh. "Ok what did we miss?" Chloe asks smiling as Clay sits beside her leaning forward. "Well Mr. Kent here didn't realize that he had to set the mixer to the speed he needed and just turned it on full speed sending potatoes all over himself" Mercy says teasingly placing her arm around Felix as he looks at her sticking his tongue out. "Seriously Kent as in Clark Kent aka Superman and you don't know how to use a mixer" Clay says giggling making me and the rest of the girls laugh. "You do realize he's not a real person yeah" Hero says chuckling as Felix nods his head in agreement. "Yeah but he was superman for Halloween" Mercy says smiling. "For real epic please tell me you were supergirl" Clay says excitedly. "You know it girl" Mercy says making me laugh. "Hero was batman" Felix says as Hero cuts the Turkey is see him rolling his eyes. "I'm more of a marvel girl anyways" Clay says as I nod my head in agreement. "All right let's eat" Hero says passing the platter of cut Turkey around as we all pass the dishes around filling our plates. "Wow baby these sweet potatoes are so good" Hero says smiling at me. "We need to say what we are thankful for" I tell everyone as we drink red wine and eat this delicious food. "Ok I'll start I'm thankful for new friends,my beautiful girl, and for living my life to it's fullest" Chloe says raising her glass as we all cheer to her. "I'm thankful for true friends that are rare to find, my sexy girl, and good health" Clay says giving Chloe a chaste kiss as we all cheers to her. "Ok me next" Mercy says excitedly continuing with "I'm thankful for my family, for the oldest of friend and the new and for my amazing boyfriend Felix" she finishes raising her glass as we all cheers taking a sip and Felix smiles at her. "Well I'm thankful that you two girls gave us wankers a chance" Felix says pointing at me and Mercy making us laugh as he continues as he points to Chloe and Clay saying "and I'm thankful that you two girls are our new friends who will hopefully turn into family with us." He raises his glass and we all smile as we cheers to him. "Guess it's my turn yeah" Hero says smiling at me as he holds my hand saying "I'm thankful that I have such an amazing and talented woman by my side, I'm thankful that we will always have each other and I'm especially thankful that she will be my wife and the mother of my children in the future when she's ready of course and last but not least I'm thankful for my family and I do mean all of you sitting here as well as those in California because without you all I would of never gotten this far" he finishes as tears form in my eyes. "Cheers to that mate too family" Felix says smiling as we all raise our glasses repeating the phrase. "Wow how do I top that" I say nervously chuckling as Hero smiles squeezing my hand as he nods my head encouraging me to go on. "I'm thankful that I have let all my fears go and that I was able to find the man that I want to spend forever with. I'm thankful that I have a loyal friend who has never deserted me and is my sister for life and new friends who are proving to do the same and become like sister's to me and last but not least I'm thankful that I know that where ever Hero is that's my home" I finish with tears in my eyes. "Your my home I love you Josephine" Hero says kissing me gently as everyone smiles at us raising their glasses as they say "To Josephine" and I smile at them as we all take a sip. We finish eating, talking, drinking and laughing while we joke around the table. "Room for desert anyone?" I ask getting up and grabbing the milk chocolate and white chocolate covered maraschino cherries and strawberries. "Baby you and Mercy did so great this was all delicious" Hero says as he eats a white chocolate covered cherry smiling at me. "This was seriously the best Thanksgiving I've ever had" Felix says wrapping his arms around Mercy. "Sucks you and Hero are leaving tomorrow" Chloe says sadly. "Yeah but she's going to be making a damn album that is going to be epic" Clay says excitedly. "Are you guys going too?" Clay asks Felix and Mercy. "Well I have too because of school my parents didn't agree to let me stay the extra week" Mercy says sadly. "And I can't go because coach Tanner only gives one emergency absence and Hero has priority" Felix says sadly making me feel bad for my best friends knowing they have to seperate again and won't be able to see each other again until Felix comes home for winter break. I'll have a week left with Hero in California while we drop or demo in the recording studio and then he has to be back in Boston and I'm already dreading it. The rest of the night went by quickly as we played charades and a game of cards as we munched on the rest of the food and finished two bottles of wine. After saying goodnight to Chloe and Clay they left and Hero and Felix offered to clean up while me and Mercy rested on the couch watching a movie. I don't remember falling asleep but I wake up feeling Hero's arms carrying me to our room. "I'm sorry I'm exhausted" I tell him giving him a small smile. "Well you cooked enough for a dozen people" he chuckles as he helps me out of my dress and puts his t shirt over my head as I lay back lazily sighing as I watch him get undressed and he crawls in beside me pulling me towards him as I hold him my head resting on his chest. "I love you baby" he says caressing my hair. "I love you Hero" I say kissing his chest as I look up at him smiling as he smiles down at me. I fall asleep shortly after exhausted from my long day as I listen to Hero's steady beat of his heart.
