Chapter 12

Hero's pov

It's been a few days since Flynn's party and I've been going to the recording studio with Jo while her and the guys finish recording some more of their songs. I have already talked to my parents, Felix, and Mercy about wanting to transfer schools and of course my parents absolutely flipped out on me. My dad was pissed because I wanted to give up football and my mom was upset that I was going to regret my decision in the long run. I promised my dad I would try to get transferred to the UC Berkeley football team but it wasn't a guarantee that I would be a starting player like at Harvard. It wasn't until Jo came over and explained to them how we were better together and that the distance wasn't working for us that they agreed if my scholarship could be transferred then I could come back to California. Felix and Mercy were the easiest to convince since I knew my sister really wanted to go to UC Berkeley anyways and was only going to Harvard for the rest of us she was the easiest and also played on my parents telling them wouldn't you rather have your children in the same state with you instead of 3,000 miles away. Causing them to have a guilt trip which worked in my favor. I was heading back to Boston tonight and I was already dreading it. Jo couldn't come of course she still had school and was recording more songs. But my leave was up and if I didn't get back in time I'd be put on academic and sports probation. Not something I needed when I had to finish the semester with good enough grades in order to transfer to Berkeley for the spring semester. "Can't we just stay here forever" Jo says breaking me from my thoughts as she smiles up at me as she lays on my chest. "I wish love but unfortunately we can't" I say holding her closer with one arm as I tuck a piece of her blonde hair behind her ear my thumb caressing her earlobe as she smirks at me. "I think Felix can't wait to come back home" she says getting out of my bed as I watch her as she puts her panties and bra on and then throws on her faded stretchy jeans and a white crop top. "Stop staring creep" she giggles out hitting me with her shoe as she sits on my bed putting her socks on and her white vans. "Stop being so beautiful brat" I tell her teasingly as I get up and throw on my black ripped jeans, a white shirt and my  all white air forces. Fixing my chains and my promise ring on my left hand from Jo as she watches me smiling. "Whose the creeper now?" I tease her wagging my eyebrows. "Oh shut it Fiennes Tiffin" she says teasingly rolling her eyes. "All right Langford or should I call you future Fiennes Tiffin" I ask her chuckling as she smacks my arm. "Jo, love or baby that's all the names you can call me. For now" she teases as she winks back at me walking out my room. "About time you guys took forever" Mercy says irritably from my doorway. "Sis I'm leaving tonight I needed time with her alone you know" I say smirking at her. "Ewww gross" she says making a gagging noise as she pretends to put her finger down her throat. "Oh quit it" Jo says giggling from behind her. "So I was saying that Felix seems real excited to come back home" Jo tells Mercy as we make our way into the kitchen. "He really is I mean he says he can't wait everytime we talk" Mercy tells her as we grab some of the lunch my mum had arranged. "So Hero we need to make sure this is going to go as planned" my dad says walking up from behind me. "I already talked to Coach Tanner he isn't pleased about me leaving and taking Felix as well but he will write me a recommendation based on my performance" I tell my dad who nods his head. "What about Felix is he going to play as well? You think they are going to let two students transfer at the same time?" my dad starts to spew out angrily. "Mr. Tiffin I'm sure we will have everything settled. We won't let anything happen to ruin Hero's future" Jo says giving him a small smile. "I love you Jo you know I do but I think him coming back here is a big mistake and if you really loved him then you would let him go" my dad tells her making my head spin as Jo's eyes well up in tears and Mercy gasps in shock. "Don't you dare try to spin this all on her" I yell at him gritting my teeth. "Hero listen to me" he starts to say but I cut him off yelling "no you listen to me dad there is no letting go for me and Jo, not fucking ever she will be my wife and the mother of my children one day so you damn well better remember that" I slam my hand on the counter making Jo and Mercy jump as Jo runs to me and pulls my arm pleading with her eyes for me to stop. "I just want what's best for you son that's all" my dad sighs out running his hands through his hair nervously a habit I picked up from him. "Jo is what's best for me" I say sincerely as he turns and walks out the room. "I'm sorry Jo I can't believe daddy said that to you" Mercy says giving her a hug. "It's ok Merc" Jo says giving her a small smile as they pull apart. "No it's not fucking ok he's just trying to mold me into what he wants my life to be" I say irritably running my hands through my hair. "Let's just take some of this food and hit the beach yeah" Mercy says excitedly grabbing a container and filling it with sandwiches and some bags of chips. "Need the cooler?" I ask her as I grab the small red and white cooler from cabinet under the kitchen island and hand it to her. She adds some cans of sodas and some ice placing the rest of the stuff in the cooler. I intertwine my fingers with Jo as she looks up at me. "Endgame babygirl" I remind her as she looks back up at me smiling. "I love you Hero" she says leaning up and placing her perfectly plump lips on mine as I groan out in contentment as our tongues caress against each other's each time our lips connect it's like an explosion of electricity with tiny sparks floating throughout my whole body. Only her. It's always been her. "Hello eeghmm rude" Mercy says  sarcastically as she pretends to clear her throat. "Oi if Felix was here you'd two be sucking face as well innit so" I say to her chuckling as Jo giggles as we take off towards the beach. "Well duh" Mercy says smirking as she nudges Jo with her hip both of them laughing. We get to the beach and luckily Mercy had grabbed a blanket as I notice her pull it from the top of the cooler laying it on the warm sand. "Let's facetime Felix" Mercy says as we all eat it's almost dinner time in Boston right now since it's 2pm here. Me and Jo spent most of the morning making love over and over again falling asleep after the 5th time totally spent in each other's arms only to wake a few hours later. "He's probably busy with his history paper" I tell Mercy as Felix doesn't answer the call. "Yeah he told me about that" she sighs and shrugs. Jo puts her head against my chest as she grabs us each a sandwich and chips and Mercy gives us our sodas. We all eat and talk and then I see a couple kid's from my old school walking towards us. "Well FT look at you man living the dream" Tuppin says smiling as he shakes my hand my other arm wrapped around Jo's waist. "Yeah man living the life you know" I say shrugging non challantly. "You know Gwen right?" he asks me pointing to the blonde near him. "Hey Gwen" Jo says waving at the girl as Mercy does the same. Ok guess she never mentioned that she talked to Gwen now. I thought her and Mercy hated that whole clique? What ever not a big deal. "There's a party at Olivia's tonight if you guys are down" Tuppin tells us as he puts his arm around Gwen. Oh so there a thing. Makes sense. Dumb and dumber. "Sorry Hero's leaving tonight and I'm not sure I'll be in a partying mood" Jo says sadly as I kiss her cheek making her smile at me. "Well I'm sure we'll have plenty of time to party together girls we have the rest of the year" Gwen says excitedly. "Yeah it was great seeing you man" Tuppin says giving me dabs as him and Gwen take off towards the water. My phone rings as I pull it out I see it's a Boston area code with a number I don't recognize as I slide my thumb across answering it on speaker Jo looks up at me curiously. "Ello" I say into the phone as a female voice answers "sir is this Hero Fiennes Tiffin I'm speaking with." Jo and Mercy look at me questionably and I shrug as I say "this is he may I ask whose calling?" "I'm sorry to inform you of this over the phone but you need to get to Boston Hospital your friend Felix is here. He has you as his emergency contact" the lady says making my heart practically stop. "What's wrong with Felix is he ok?" Mercy cries out as Jo clutches on to my arm tightly. "I'm sorry it's against hospital policy to discuss matters over the phone I need you to come in as soon as possible" she tells me. "I'll be there as soon as I can" I tell her numbly not registering what else she says as I hang up the phone. My arm going limp as my phone falls in the sand. "We have to go now" Jo says frantically jumping up. "What about your music?" Mercy asks her timidly the tears flowing down her face. "Fuck my music Felix is seriously hurt or sick. He needs us" she says grabbing my sister as she collapses against her. "Jo my flight was booked you guys might have to wait til tomorrow" I tell her sadly. "Hero please I can't wait" Mercy says shaking uncontrollably. "We'll figure it out" Jo assures her stroking her hair. I quickly gather up our stuff briefly dusting off my phone as we all make our way back to the house. I need to find a way to get us all on a flight tonight. Because I know these two are not going to let me go and face this on my own. Felix is like my brother we have a bond like Jo and Mercy's. I just pray and hope when we do get to Boston that he is fine. Because I can't lose Felix, I just can't.
