Chapter 39

Jo's POV

I've been really pissed off lately with those bitches Ashley and Sara. It's like they are the most ignorant woman to ever exist. Like who goes after someone that is already married. A homewrecker that's who. Luckily I know Hero would never do that to me and Felix wouldn't do that to Mercy either at least he better not or I'd have to cut his balls off and hang them from the rearview mirror on my Jeep as a trophy. Geeze that was graphic what has gotten into me lately.

I didn't even realize we had arrived at Berkeley as we walked through the passageway leading to the stadium and where the boys locker rooms are. I had completely spaced out as I saw Mercy throwing some tampons in her backpack before we left. I have always been in sync with her. We even started a few days apart from one another when we were 13. So I'm definitely late and my mind is on overdrive with worry. I mean I want children with Hero but I also want to get my degree in nursing and for Hero to achieve all his dreams first. He wants to be a pro soccer player, a child his sophomore year of college would only ruin that, right?

"Earth to Jo" Hero says snapping me out of my reverie as he literally snaps his fingers in front of my face. "What?" I say a little to harshly as he looks down at me worriedly. "You ok love?" he says wrapping his arms around me and pulling me to his chest his strong arms making me feel safe as I inhale his sweet scent. "I'm sorry babe I'm just a little tired and hungry" I say dismissively not wanting to tell him that I think I'm pregnant before his big game. "Well good thing I packed you a few things yeah" he says giddily handing me a bag from his duffel as I smile seeing a strawberry smoothie and some chocolate. "No fair where's mine" Mercy says as Felix shrugs making her glare at him. "Mate you need to step up your husband game" Hero says to Felix teasingly. "You could of gave me a heads up wanker" Felix says back to him nudging him in the side. As me and Mercy laugh at them.

"Well if it isn't the lovebirds" Ashley says from behind us as I would know her annoying squeak from a crowded room. "The only bird here is you Ashley" I say back smirking at her as Hero pulls me against his back his arms lacing around my stomach. My eyes immediately fly to my stomach to where his hands rub adoringly instantly making me tear up as I forget about the bitches standing before us. That is until the bitch herself says "Oh that's why you married her she's knocked up." As her friends laughed along with her.

"She's not but even if she was it's none of your fucking business got it" Mercy yells at them angrily making me smirk as Hero chuckles behind me his arms still holding me firmly against his chest. "Little Mrs. Hero can't defend herself she needs clearance sale Barbie to do it for her" Sara says laughing making my blood boil. "Excuse me Bitch my best friend is no damn Barbie doll clearance or otherwise. There is nothing fake about her were as you look like you put about a months work of makeup on your face and your hair is clearly not naturally blonde" I spit back at her with venom in my voice as the door to boys locker rooms open up and the Coach looks out at us all clearly hearing the whole commotion as he clears his throat and asks "Is there a problem here?" "No prob Coach we're fine" Hero answers as he gives me a quick peck on my lips as Felix does the same whispering something to Mercy who just rolls her eyes as she looks over at the girls and then nods her head in agreement. "Love you I'll see you out there yeah" Hero says as he bends down and then whispers in my ear "don't do anything I wouldn't do love." "That doesn't leave out much then" I retort back making him laugh as I smile up at him. "Love you too now get going your Coach is giving me the evil eye" I tell him giggling as he rolls his eyes and picks me up in his arms kissing me passionately before putting me down, flashing me a dimpled smile as he winks following Felix and their Coach who just looks embarrassed as he mutters "damn hormonal college kids."

I look around and breathe a sigh of relief when I see that Sara and Ashley and their group must of got scared off by the Coach as none of them are in sight. "So Jo is what Ashley said true? I saw your face when she said it so don't try and deny it" Mercy says interrogating me as soon the door to the locker room is shut. "I'm not sure" I say frantically knowing there is no way I would ever be able to keep a secret like this from her. I tell her everything how I've been feeling more irritable and tired. How I didn't even notice it until I realized my period hadn't come along with hers. "As soon as the games over we'll get a test. Don't worry Jo no matter what we'll always be there for you" she says taking me in my arms. And I can't help it I cry. The tears streaming down my face as I fear the outcome of what this test will decide. Will me and Hero be parents at the age of 19 and 21? Will we not be pregnant and live a normal college life? Will be be mad? Will he hate me? The questions plagued me as Mercy helped me wash my face and then we made our way out to the stands. All I knew was deep down if I was truly pregnant then nothing was going to keep me from being the best mother I could be.
