My heart's choice.

Vega's point of view

I remember the feeling of lying on a cold, wet floor as my heart slowly stopped beating after I felt the warm sensation of metal pushing through me and the vision of blackness surrounding me as I faded away from this place and afterward having being carried to a beautiful place not of this realm as an Angel held me close in his arms, the feeling of being loved crossed my mind and made me smile even though I would be leaving behind those who loved me, I couldn't turn back now. I was at peace and didn't want to a place that I would have to worry about when I would be taken as a hostage and hide from others who couldn't accept me for what I truly was.

Spirit: do not worry my child, your days of running and hiding for those out to seek you are over. Go back to those who truly care and love you the most. I will be watching over you from now on.

I felt a rush as I begun hearing two faint voices talking among each other.

Nathan: I know you and I haven't gotten along but I wanted to thank you for bringing her back here.

Peter: it's no problem but I didn't do it for you, she probably won't admit it to anyone but she still needs me despite you being her lover.

Nathan: you keep forgetting that you ran away when she needed you, she was pregnant with your child and watched you die in her arms.

Peter: I did it to protect her.

Nathan: yet look at where she is now? She won't look at the world the same. She trusted and loved you but you failed her. She will never love you again.

Peter: I don't expect her to love me again, all I want for her is to be happy with whatever or whoever she chooses to be with.

I slowly looked over at them and suddenly realized the truth and the promise I made to my father about Nathan.

Vega: please quit arguing...

Nathan: you're awake, how are you feeling?

Vega: I'm alright, how did I get here?

Peter: I brought you back as requested since I'm the fastest person here.

Vega: thank you Peter but you should have left me alone to die.

Nathan: you don't mean that Vega, you are wanted here more than you realize.

Vega: but I do mean it, you two are arguing over me and for what reason? You should be getting along instead.

Peter: she is right, we should be fighting our enemies instead of each other.

Nathan: you don't get to speak for her.

Vega: and neither do you Nathan...

Nathan: I...

Vega: I know that you both love me and want me to be happy but from now on I get to choose my own happiness.

Logan: I don't know what is going on here and don't care to know but the nonsense ends now, Vega needs to heal without listening to two children argue.

Vega: thank you father, can you remove them please?

Logan: alright you both heard the girl,  go take a walk and calm down somewhere you two.

They left without saying another word so I could speak with my father alone.

Logan: glad to have you back darling,  how are you feeling?

Vega: honestly, I feel like a train wreck. I have two guys fighting for my affection and I'm confused about what to do. I wish this would have never happened.

Logan: you definitely have your mother's spirit and her looks, she would be proud of the woman you are today despite having your affection being fought for.

Vega: I wonder what advice she would have for me if she was here right now.

Logan: she would tell you to follow what your heart is telling you. I mean you have a hard decision to make Vega, who do you truly want to be with, Nathan or Peter?

Vega: and if I don't choose either they will still continue fighting for my love.

Logan: whatever your heart is telling you is what you should choose, take some time before making a decision instead of regretting loving the person you pick.

Vega: thanks dad.
