26 | missions or chores?

Their genin test was over and Kakashi announced that they passed. And despite knowing the answer to his test was teamwork, she kept her quiet the whole time. 

Sakura knew that Kakashi was observant, if she stood out too much she would risk herself revealing something about her and that wasn't something she wanted.

Currently, in her situation, it was better to fit in rather than to stand out, stand out like her teammates.

Not that she would stand out anyways after all who were her teammates? One from the Uchiha clan and the other from the Uzumaki clan. No matter how she tried to stand out, she would always be outshined by her teammates.

The world was unfair, so fucking unfair.

Sakura calmed herself down so as to shake away all her thoughts and concentrated on what her sensei was talking about.

"In the ninja world, those who break the rules are scum, that's true. But..." Kakashi paused for a second before looking up in the sky.

"Those who abandon their friends are worse than scum."

Sakura's eyes widened at his words while Sasuke smirked.

"Wow, he's kinda cool," Naruto said as his eyes watered with tears.

Kakashi then looked towards his three students who had surprised him.

"This exercise is over," Kakashi narrowed his one eye, "Everyone passes! Squad 7 starts its first mission tomorrow!"

Kakashi posed giving them a thumbs-up as dramatic background music started.

"Yes!" The pinkette let out a cheerful laugh and the ravenette simply smirked yet again.

"I did it!" Naruto cheered.

"Let's go home," Kakashi simply stated as he turned his back towards them and started walking away.

'Home?' Sakura looked down, 'Where is home?'

"Yeah, let's go!" She smiled.

"Oi dobe," Sasuke called out, "Okaa-san wants to see you let's go."

"Don't call me done, teme!"

'I don't have a home.' 

Here they were standing in front of the third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, waiting for their next mission.

"Now, what about squad 7's next mission?" The third Hokage questioned. A pipe in his mouth as he smoked. Sakura grimaced at the smell of the smoke which hit her as the old man puffed out the smoke.

'If he wants to die early then just die, why make us suffer through that horrendous smell of smoke?' A small tick appeared on her forehead as she thought of this.

"Would you like to find Tora again, babysit Oikawa-san's nephew living with them or help Tsukishima-san transport salt to the shop?"

The Hokage asked them to choose as if they were shopping for new clothes and he was a salesman trying to please his customers into buying from their shop.

Sakura's eyes twitched at the ridiculous missions they were given. All of them were simple chores, they couldn't be considered as missions!

From finding a cat to babysitting, pulling out weeds and what not have they done in these past few weeks?

These missions were too stupid, according to the data she had read, only the village hidden in the leaf had such ridiculous missions for genins. Most of the genins in other villages would be trained to their best and would be given better missions in order to strengthen them which would make them eligible for the chunnin exams.

"No!"

The green-eyed female looked beside her to see her blonde teammate; Naruto who had crossed his arms in front of him as he yelled out loudly. Seeing his outburst, the Hokage and Iruka looked at him in surprise.

"What do you mean no?" Iruka asked.

"I'm no longer a kid now, I don't want to do kid's stuff!" He huffed loudly, "I'm now grown up, give me a good mission, dattebayo!"

Sakura put a nervous smile on her face as she listened to Naruto's rant and saw that Iruka was seething in anger due to the disrespect Naruto was showing.

"Fine." When the Hokage slightly coughed everyone looked at him as he continued: "Since Naruto thinks he no longer is a kid, let me give you a C Rank mission."

To say that everyone especially Sakura was shocked was an understatement. Naruto whined a little and he gave in, what kind of Hokage was Hiruzen Sarutobi? He was so irresponsible. The village would certainly be ruined if he continued being a stupid Hokage. 

'Who the fuck even made him the Hokage?' Sakura cursed to herself, 'Oh yeah, it was the second Hokage; Tobirama Senju, why did you make him the Hokage?!'

In all honesty, Tobirama was probably the best Hokage from Sakura's perspective. He was reasonable and wouldn't casually make decisions such as this. 

Sakura's sarcasm was certainly on point today and the thought crossed her mind. A thought that almost made her break her calm but nervous facade and caused her to laugh out loud. 

'Seeing how much his successor ruined the village, Tobirama-san might as well come out of his grave and start hula dancing.'

― Frankly speaking, what even made Tobirama think that Hiruzen would be a good hokage?

― I was too lazy to watch the episode so there probably aren't a lot of similarities, I guess.
