"Truly, the fight was wonderful." Konan praised with a small smile, her orange eyes looking ahead as she led the pinikette.

"Thank you," With a nod, Sakura accepted the compliment.

She wouldn't say things like 'Ah, I did nothing' or 'You praise me too much'.

Sakura knew that she did well along with her teammates.

It took much of her brain power to think of a plan when she was going against Shikamaru Nara.

She had one advantage and that was having one-on-one knowledge about everyone's abilities as well as personalities.

She also had the benefit that team talia had worked together for years, unlike their four opponents.

After defeating the prodigies from Konoha, everyone was simply a piece of cake.

Breezing through the entire competition, Team Talia emerged victorious and gained even more fame.

Together they stood on the top, but Sakura knew this wasn't enough.

That's why she was here.

The entire competition was a farce, one which was used to test her.

Sakura had an insight into why her uncle, who led Amegakure, Nagato Uzumaki, wanted to test her.

But she wanted to be sure.

So, here she was, pretending as if she was ignorant as she followed Konan down the various maze-like hallways to where her uncle truly lay.

The sight of her uncle always caused a deep ache in her heart.

Her uncle was far too gone and too dedicated to his dream of world peace to care for his niece. Sakura was too troubled with her family to even bother forming a connection.

Their uncle-neice bond was a fragile one, based purely on blood relations and her uncle's guilt over being unable to protect his sister, her mother.

"Sakura Uzumaki." Nagato's raspy voice cut the silence like a rusted blade making the pinkette straighten her back and lift her chin slightly.
