"What is it, Sakura?"

The pinkette stood in front of the man carrying a burden that had always been too much for him.

"I just thought I should have a chat with my dear uncle before I leave." She answered. "And give him a gift."

Stepping forward, she took out the box from her pockets and held it in her palm.

Lavender eyes looked curiously at the box and Sakura opened it to reveal a simple amethyst stone attached to a chain.

Sakura took out the necklace and put it around Nagato's neck with ease.

"...Thank you." He spoke as he felt the cool sensation of the amethyst on his skin.

It seemed that he was surprised to receive such a gift, he didn't bother asking why he was receiving one and why this particular necklace was a gift.

In the end, Nagato had always been thinking of the future because of the past.

Due to him losing his sister and not being able to do anything about it, he felt he should do favours for his niece whom he owed.

"Not going to ask why?" Sakura stepped back as her eyes glanced at the purple stone in appreciation.

Nagato shook his head.

"Well then remember, this will prevent a tragedy." She answered, "But it's all according to my plan."

The redhead wasn't sure of what to make of his niece's words but he nodded in understanding, as they made some small talk, time flew easily and it was the moment for Sakura to leave.

"Sakura."

The pinkette stopped at the door when she heard her name being called, she turned around to face Nagato who looked solemn.

"Remember,"

Emerald eyes stared into lavender-ringed ones.

"The past is like an ocean, it may be filled with beauty but staying there will only cause you to drown."
