I don't know about you, but symphonic metal is definitely my favourite genre of music. I mean it's just amazing! It combines rock/metal with classic music and opera. In addition, it has a celtic-music sound too. There are lullabies that are just beautiful and make you dream of a magical forest in a Celtic myth, while there are more intense songs that make you feel like you are in the middle of a battle in the Medieval times. It's just magical. It's like reading a book!
Now that I finished my monologue about how wonderful is Symphonic metal here is a list with my top 7 bands of the genre. Some may also be power metal since these two subgenres of metal are very close.
7. Sonata Arctica
They are simply great. They are last in this list only because personally I prefer other bands.

6. Epica
Epica is epic. Simple as that. I don't particularly like the guy who growls, but I love Simone Simons' voice. She is my third favourite female vocalist after all.

Both videos are very weird but the songs are amazing.
5. Majestica
Oh I love these guys! I 'm not sure if they are considered symphonic or power metal though.
