Hello again!
How are you today?

So it's time for me to speak about a series I binge-watched during summer and was absolutely unforgettable:

Attack On Titan

nown mostly for its extreme violence scenes, Attack On Titan also known as Shingeki No Kyojin, is one of the most popular anime series around and that's beacause there's much more to it than action. Actually the word that could best describe it is "unique". So far it's got about 80 episodes and the final part of the last season is set for 2023.

Plot:
A hundred years ago, the Titans appeared: giant, mindless beings that eat humans alive not to survive but simply for the fun of it (positive beginning, right?). Thus, humanity was forced to retreat inside three enormous Walls: Maria, Rose and Sina. There there was peace and tranquility. Until...that day. Humanity remembered the fear of living under their rule... Wall Maria fell. Eren saw his mother being eaten alive before his very eyes while he was been taken away. Saved and living as a refugee along with the rest of the survivors and his friends, Mikasa and Armin, there's only one thing in his mind: to kill every last Titan.

What I don't like:

•Too much violence
A certain amount of violence is to be expected in any action or adventure story, since battles are always included, but Attack On Titan takes it on a whole different level. It's completely justified to include some extreme scenes in order to convey the cruelty of the world the characters have to face, but there are so many of them that it simply feels as if Isayama created the manga just because he wanted to draw gruesome scenes of people being eaten alive and tons of blood. The series can get really disgusting too. So give it a lot of thought before you give it a shot because violence is anything but good for your mental well-being and Attack On Titan is one of the worst series on that matter.

Furthermore, all those violent action scenes are shown at the expense of other aspects of the series which end up underdeveloped or completely abandoned. Here are a few examples:

-The way society inside the Walls works is one of the least developed parts of the Shingeki No Kyojin universe. During the first season there were mentions of social inequality in the Walls and corruption within the elite section of the army, the Military Police. There was also a religious cult and, in an OVA, it was revealed that there is a whole different city underground, where people strive to get to the surface but fail as the staircases towards the sunlight are controlled by the rich and powerful. Sadly, none of those got further analysis and were completely dropped later on. Also in the second part of the third season, we get to see some political intrigue but, as soon as you think that the show is finally going to explore the social and political aspect of its universe, it goes all "Titan powers" again. For me, these were some of the most interesting aspects of the series and I was really disappointed to see them abandoned for the sake of violence and tItAn PoWeRs AnD tHe RoYaL fAmIlY
