The weekend came without any consequence, and
Y/N was on the train to visit her father. He was living just outside of the city, once he'd retired he bought a small house with a garden and he joined several agriculture and gardening clubs. You'd almost asked Aizawa to join you on the visit, but you thought better of that, he was getting ready for his interview with UA.

Patting your bags for the weekend, you checked on what you'd brought with you. A new thousand piece puzzle, a bag of coffee beans, and several books you thought he'd enjoy. Smiling to yourself, you tucked in your headphones and tuned into the audiobook you'd rented from your public library. It was a book about nature conservancy and how different nations were responding to forest conservation efforts, and the consequences that followed.

The train ride came to an end, and you were much wiser when it came to conservation efforts, especially in Europe and North America. Stepping onto the platform, you heard your dad calling your name, and it brought the brightest smile to your face. He wore navy corduroy pants, comfortable brown loafers, and a white and blue striped sweater with his brown bomber jacket over top.

You jogged towards your dad, wearing black tights with a red mid-thigh plaid skirt, a black sweater, and long black leather coat that was the same length as your skirt. The red Doc Martens clomped in the puddles on the ground, as you approached your dad.

"Welcome to Kichijoji! The nature and relaxing suburb of Tokyo!" His smile was bright and cheerful, which you matched with one of your own.

"I'm so happy to be with you, this will be a lovely weekend! I brought some fun things for you." You embraced him before the two of you turned and walked towards his car that was parked outside the station. You stopped at the grocery store to pick up food for dinner and lunch, you always loved cooking for your dad when the two of spent these weekends together. You'd planned the meals the day prior, and with kotatsu season upon Tokyo, you'd decided to make a very fancy ramen dinner and takoyaki. The warm food would be delicious and seasonal.

You cooked dinner and listened to your dad talk about his garden club and his recent renovations to his home. He inquired about Emi and Aizawa, the two of you talked about your promotion and celebrated with some sake as you both sat down to your meal.

"I've never been more proud of you, little Firefly. You've worked so hard for this, and you've finally attained your goals. What is next for you?" He sipped more from his cup, waiting for your response.  As you thought about the future and what you wanted, the two of you ate in a comfortable silence.

"I might want to eventually be a teacher. Emi and Aizawa are going through the training for their new positions. But, since I finally got my full time position, I want to take my time. I'm trying to adopt a cat too, but that's been more difficult than anything in my life. They can't, for some reason, finish my background check!" Setting your drink down, you took several bites of the ramen, you'd flavored it expertly, and definitely wanted to make it again.

"Teaching would be fun, did you get offered a position?" He then slurped loudly, digging into his meal.

"Yes, UA offered me and Aizawa a position. He's accepting it, I'm delaying my acceptance of the position for at least a year. He's been a full time Pro Hero for longer than me, and I want to work as a true Pro Hero for some time. It's been my dream to do this work, and I want to actually save people before I choose the complacency of teaching." The ignorant statement left your lips, you didn't know the challenges of teaching,  but everything still rang true. Teaching was not a world you wished to belong in yet. You craved action and adventure, despite the trauma, you wanted to save people and defeat villains.

The rest of the evening went smoothly, the two of you worked on the puzzle, as an old television show played reruns in the background. Then, before it was too late, you both retired to your rooms and slept soundly through the night.

Sleeping at your Dad's home was different, the ambient noises were quieter, no major traffic noises like your apartment, and you fell soundly asleep to the sound of rain and the noises of a home at rest.

The next day was just as restful, you and your father went for a long walk, meeting his neighbors and learning more about his garden club, and exploring his neighborhood. You cooked him enough food that afternoon to last him a week, and then, with sadness in your heart, had to depart for home in the late afternoon.

For some reason, you longed for long weekends with your father and your own family. Imagining the loving relationships that would be formed between your partnership and children and your own father. The thoughts of starting a family and partnering with someone flew through your mind on the train ride home. No matter how hard you tried to divert your thoughts, they still circled back to a small family gathering, for the holidays and for cute weekends. Your father's home was perfect for grand children, wait, why were you even thinking of grandchildren? Marriage was a long way off, as you weren't dating anyone, but you still thought of the potential... it would be nice to have a family.

A text came to your phone during a brief reprieve from your thoughts of familial mattes.

A - how was visiting your Dad? I'll have to convince you to take me along next time, I know he misses me more than you.
Y/N - he would love to have you, you wouldn't even need to visit with me. Just be prepared for him asking about future kids, it's sent me for a loop.
A - I'll just talk about my students, I'm sure they'll fill some sort of familial hole for a long while, but who knows? Maybe they'll be shitheads.
Y/N - lol. I'm sure you'll love your students more than life itself once you've met them.
A - who knows...

And moments later, you arrived at your home station, and as you disembarked, luggage lighter than when you'd arrived at your father's station, you began your walk home. Being a young adult was irritating, if you had to deal with every single societal pressure known to man!
