13. Is this normal?

You awoke to the shower running in your adjoined bathroom. Had you fallen asleep and left it on? A wave of guilt hit you, you were single-handedly killing the planet. You crawled out of bed, favoring your non-injured arm, you walked confidently towards the door, fingertips brushing the frame, you froze in place. You heard the water hitting the floor, but it was also splattering off of something else in the shower. Immediately, you went invisible and pushed the door open, ever so slightly, to see who could have possibly broken into your apartment. You opened the door enough to stick your head into the room, your jaw hit the floor. In your shower was a beautiful, tall, slender man. There was a scar along his abdomen, and despite his face being obscured, you had an idea that this man was a friend, not your foe. You decided that you'd been creepy enough, and you silently closed the door. You debated on laying in bed, and pretending that you hadn't snooped around, but also considered making breakfast for your guest.

Looking into your fridge, you decided on making Eggs Benedict with hash browns and maple turkey sausage. You'd perfected the best Hollandaise sauce the other day and decided to give it a whirl. Twenty-five minutes later, you plated two beautiful plates and set them on your island. Turning away from the food, you began to wash the dishes. The shower had turned off fifteen minutes prior, and the door from your room opened slowly, a very, very familiar head poking out.

"Y/N? Where'd you go?" His deep voice rattled your bones, and confirmed your suspicions. All Might, Toshinori Yagi, had two forms. It made sense, such a powerful quirk would definitely have a drawback, it made you happy that he had felt safe and comfortable enough around you to relax into his other form. You turned and waved a soapy hand to your big, heroic friend.

"Toshi! I made breakfast, come have a bite." You smiled wide, he looked absolutely surprised that you'd made breakfast for the two of you, or maybe your pajamas were revealing?! You suddenly looked down to make sure you weren't exposing yourself. You weren't, your loose summer dress hid everything.

"Y/N? I can hear you, but I don't see you. Do you need help?" He sounded incredibly worried. What did he mean he couldn't see you? You were right here in front of him?

"Toshi, I'm by the sink, what do you mean you can't see me?" You asked, confused, and worried. Maybe he suffered from some form of blindness? You'd somehow blinded the Symbol of Peace, how could you do such a thing?!

"Y/N, your quirk is definitely activated. I can't see you at all and I'm staring right at the sink." You sweat dropped, of course your quirk was activated, that made more sense than anything else.

"Oh! Oops!" A moment or two later you appeared before his eyes, just as beautiful as ever, your hair crazy and wild from sleep. "Being invisible is really comfortable for me, it sometimes feels more natural than being visible, and since I can see all invisible things, I can never really tell if I've ever deactivated my quirk!" Your confession wasn't a lie. There had been a few times where you'd gone days without realizing your quirk was activated. Aizawa had to use his quirk a few times too. When you'd been a student at UA, Gran Torino had commented that the greatest drawback to your quirk was that you loved it too much, and that love would prevent you from ever realizing that you'd visually disappeared from the world. A small part of his stomach twisted at the thought of you disappearing from his sight forever. That would not do at all.

"Well, come on! Let's eat before the sauce splits or it gets cold!" You climbed onto the stool, and Toshi sat down next to you, his arms brushing your shoulders, he was so big in this form. You wanted to ask about his shower, but you didn't want to be creepy nor did you want to bring it up before he did. "I slept really well last night, did you?" You asked right as he began to chew one of the sausages, having already finished the eggs. You smiled at the worry in his eyes, you could see the need to respond immediately as well as the need to remain polite and not talk with his mouth full. You could help but grin even wider. "Take your time Toshi, I asked at an inopportune time." His shoulders relaxed from his ears and the two of you continued to eat. The clock read 7:00 AM, you still had an hour and a half before you had to be to work, so you were not rushing. You weren't sure what All Might's schedule looked like today, but you hoped you could spend more of it with him. Suddenly your phone rang.

"Hey! What's up boss?" You asked jovially, you'd be seeing Sā soon, but you always loved to hear from the eccentric man.

"Why didn't you tell me you were injured yesterday?" He sounded frustrated.

"Oh! Sorry Sir Nighteye, I didn't think it was that big of a deal, I got patched up real good immediately afterwards, I'm still good to come into work today. I'll be there in an hour and a half." You responded, nervous, why was he so upset with you?

"No, Y/N. You're not allowed to come back in today or tomorrow. I got the report from Endeavor, he said that you were nearly incapacitated after the fight and unable to move half of your body. If I see you in uniform, performing any sort of hero duties, I will suspend you." With those fighting words, he hung up. Your eyes began to fill with tears, he'd been so harsh and aggressive. All you had done was your job, it was natural for heroes to get hurt while protecting society, why did he have to get so mean about it?

You were suddenly lifted up, and placed ever so gently into Toshi's lap, your head on his shoulder, he wrapped his arms around your body, comforting your entire soul with his presence.

"Don't cry Y/N. He's only doing this because he's worried. You had us all worried yesterday, but I know how much hero-work matters to you. If it makes you feel any better. I'll spend the entire day with you. No heroics on your side, no heroics on my side. Deal?" He whispered this into your hair and it nearly made you sob harder into his shoulder. How could the Symbol of Peace be so perfect? How were you so lucky?

"B-b-but you're the Symbol of Peace, don't you have to go out today and do heroics?" You mumbled into him.

"You're not wrong, I will have to go out at some point today, but that doesn't mean I can't have a lazy, slow morning with my favorite girl. Now, that was the best breakfast I've ever had, you go shower and get ready for the day, I'll do these dishes and put them away." You smiled at walked back into your room. You stripped and stepped into your shower, the stones were still warm and damp from Toshinori's shower, he was such an amazing human and he made you so very happy.

Turning on the shower, you looked at your feet and wiggled your toes, but a chill ran down your spine as you watched the remnants of blood on the tiled floor began to run into the drain. Toshi had been bleeding when he'd been in the shower. You couldn't panic, as you washed your hair, the water stinging your burnt skin. Maybe it was a side effect of his second form? Was that normal? You would sit down with him and ask him at some point in the future, but for now, you'd shower quickly, re-wrap your shoulder and side and then spend as much time with the ray of sunshine in your kitchen.

You were pretty sure that this was far from normal, but it was definitely something you could roll with.
