You set the table, and by the time the meal was finished and most of the pots and pans were clean. The two of you sat next to each other, shoulders touching, and began to feast.

He'd prepared a favorite meal of his, buttermilk roasted chicken with an arugula salad and rice. The chicken was juicy and delectable, meat coming right off the bone. The citrus dressing with the salad complimented the creaminess of the chicken and rice. It was an amazing mouth feel, great texture and flavor, every bite made you smile. You didn't talk much, but Toshi's eyes never left your joyous face as you continued to eat his masterpiece. You both finished the meal, you sighed loudly, incredibly content with everything you'd just consumed. You smiled up at Toshi, hands on your stomach.

"Toshi, that was the best meal I've had in AGES! You need to cook that for me more often, or at least give me your recipe!" Your smile brought him joy, a light inside him flickered on, like it always did when you smiled at him.

"Hmm I might keep it secret so that you have to hangout with me." He countered playfully. This made you blush, was Toshi flirting?! Your internal battle began, was his intention to flirt or was he being nice? Each thought and question finished with the epitome, could you kiss him at the end of the night? You desired you'd play with what you had going for you, and keep flirting back and laying it on thicker.

"Toshi, you know you don't even need to call me to see if I want to spend time with you. My favorite time of day is 'Toshi time!'" You smiled beguilingly, looking up through your lashes. You stood up, his face nearly in your chest, as you grabbed the plates to clear the table.

"Go pick out a movie Toshi, your turn this time. I'll whip something up for dessert and do these dishes." He had a look of utter shock on his face, his nose had been within The Valley of your breasts, you smelled a little like roses and a little like clean cotton. He wanted more, but he couldn't be too sure.

"You got it Y/N, I'll pick out the movie and get comfortable." You heard him stand and walk away from the table. You focused on your tasks at hand, scooping mint chocolate chip ice cream into two bowls and then cleaning the plates. You finally turned around, bowls in hand, to see no one in the living room. The tv wasn't on, the couch was empty. You were confused, until you saw the soft blue light from your bedroom. You smiled softly, maybe he got the hint?

You walked into your room, slowly, clutching onto the bowls for dear life. You were so anxious, excitement ran through you but your nerves were on edge. Entering, you saw your blond bombshell on the bed, wrapped in your living room blankets, with pillows propped up around him. The remote was in his right hand, the movie paused. You turned to see which movie he'd selected, but the screen was the pause screen blue. His left hand extended towards you, you handed him his ice cream, which he immediately placed on the bed side table, and he reached for you again. This time you gave him your hand and you were not disappointed. He pulled you and your bowl of ice cream into his lap, and you snuggled up against his chest. His bowl of ice cream sat on your head, your back flush to his chest, and he finally hit play.

The opening credits of a movie you hadn't even thought about began to play.

"Toshi. Oh my god. How do YOU know about this movie?!?" You turned to him spastically, almost knocking his ice cream into your bed.

"Y/N, you talked about it nonstop the other day! How could I forget about Willow? Besides, I watched the trailer for it earlier today and figured I should watch it with you. The extended version." He smiled down at you, a childlike grin engulfed you.

"TOSHI!!! Wait, you realize the extended version is like over three hours, right?" You got worried, the two of you were notorious for sleeping through long movies.

"Y/N, neither of us will be sleeping, and I actually have off tomorrow, so I don't mind staying up late." His confidence made you smile. This was going to be a great night.

Madmartigan, the daikini swordsman, was confessing his love for Sorsha, the warrior daughter of the evil sorceress they had to kill.

" I'm in love with you, Sorsha.  I don't want to be, but a power has enchanted me and I stand helpless against it.  It's torture.  Battlefield or prison cell was never half as cruel." He crooned while also protecting the baby and Willow. You felt something stir within you and you felt both of Toshi's arms wrap tighter around you. His monologue continued, as he told her he loved her but had to save the baby. It made you so happy, you'd forgotten how much you loved this movie.

You and Toshi remained wrapped up in blankets and each other for the rest of the movie, eyes not leaving the screen. You both were awake, and overjoyed. You made a move to get out from his arms and blankets, only to be pulled back to his chest.

"Don't move, Y/N. There may be a death dog lurking and I couldn't let you risk it." You felt his voice rumble in his chest, his big muscles against your back. You shivered in unknown anticipation. You wanted so much to come from this.

Tipping your head back, you leaned against the handsome man at your back. You began to quote the final lines of Madmartigan's love confession, "I want you and I can't have you so I want you all the more.  If this were another time and another place I'd--" you ended the quote and stared at his big, smooth lips. The next part of the quote was you kissing him. But you weren't sure if you should.

"You'd what?" Toshinori answered, voicing Sorsha. He was playing along, which meant, he knew what was next, which meant, you weren't going to let this moment pass you by.

Coming up onto your knees and facing the big man, you leaned forward, closed your eyes, and your lips pressed to his. A hand came to the small of your back, another to your head. One of your hands played with his soft hair, the other rested on his collarbone, thumb stroking his throat. His kiss was powerful and soft, delicate but passionate. You were overjoyed, exhilarated, it appeared he reciprocated your feelings.

You pulled away, breathless. "Wow, let's watch that movie again, if this is how I'm rewarded at the end of it." His laughter vibrates your chest, and he swooped down for another kiss.

Ah yes, who would've known that a 90s movie would've led to the best moment of your adult dating life?
