All Might's words shocked you to your core. The Symbol of Peace was considering a teaching job at your alma mater?! You began to think, did this make you want to teach? Or, was his passion encouraging your own? He always inspired you to do your best, and to reach for your fullest potential. When you attended UA, his attitude was amazing, his determination inspired you. The fact that you two became friends, despite your near-hero worship, was mind-boggling to you.

Last night had ended the same way most of your private moments with Toshinori ended, abrupt but warm. It seemed like he never truly wanted to leave, but was always running later than he needed to be for something very important, something he never mentioned. It didn't bother you, how could it? He always brought a smile to your face, always cuddled or coddled you in one war or another, and the two of you always had something to talk about - from recent missions and news to something funny you'd seen earlier in the week. In your heart of hearts, you knew that Toshinori was untouchable for you, no matter how close you both got, the snuggles the pecks on the cheek, the seductive cleavage shots... It would be undoubtedly impossible for you and your blonde hunk of peace to ever truly become romantically involved. This being said, well, in your case, mulled over for years on end, you wouldn't stop enjoying his presence nor would you stop sending your favorite hero risqué cleavage shots in the "name of showing him your necklaces."

You giggled to yourself, thinking of the many images you'd sent to the poor man by now. Too many to truly keep count. You sat on your couch, legs outstretched, mug of warm ginseng tea clasped tightly between your palms. You wore a cozy, loose maroon turtleneck and black leggings. Today was another day off for you, which was unexpected, but relaxing. For three years, no five years? Who could keep track anymore? You'd been working constantly, trying to make headway in the hero-world, and now that you had a permanent position, it allowed you much needed rest.

Oh my. You suddenly thought, Sā had been at your house last night, ready to take you out to lunch or dinner. You had to text him. How could you have forgotten about your boss?! Setting down your mug, you grabbed your phone and sent the fastest "Hey! If you're not busy today, want to stay cozy and grab some soup with me today?" As soon as you sent the text, you checked the weather, in your home, it was a comfortable, albeit chilly, temperature. You loved layering, hated sweating. Luckily the weather matched your desires, a cool wind out of the west was sure to keep the mid-60s cool. Well, cool enough to allow for a soup date, hopefully. Picking up your mug again, you sipped it lightly, letting it's sharp flavor soak your taste buds. Your phone vibrated.

Sā - Stuck in the office today, I've got some serious reconnaissance to do. Rain check?

Y/N - Ah! Well, maybe it's a sign that I should cook soup at home, wouldn't want to grab lunch without ya. What's your favorite kind?

There was a brief pause in the conversation, you figured he'd either gotten super busy or was in deep thought in regards to his favorite soup.

Sā - Recently, I found this delicious black bean, creamy soup with onions and other spices and vegetables, might be addicted. Gotta fly, time for a meeting. See you tomorrow.

Y/N - You got this! See ya!

You could totally make that creamy black bean soup, maybe not his exact favorite. But, you were willing to try, you were sure it would brighten his day! Practically leaping from the couch, you rushed into your kitchen, grabbing the necessary goods to make a delicious, creamy black bean soup. Grabbing bacon, onions, canned black beans, jalapeños, garlic, and adobo with several other spices, you began to whip up the filling dish.

You loved emulsifying food. You held your immersion blender in the large pot and watched as everything came together in a beautiful tide pool of  black beans. Finishing it, you put the soup into two different to-go containers, so that you could take some to Sā, and packed the rest up into a liter container and slid it into your freezer. You'd save that soup for a cold day.

Nearly running to your office, you swiped yourself in and somehow avoided everyone else in the agency on your way into Sā's office. You knocked delicately and waited to hear his voice.

"Come in!" He called out, you were sure he knew it was you, but not completely sure.

"Hello Sā, how's work coming along?" You asked as you walked in, your bag hanging low on your arm, heavy with soup. His eyes immediately went to your bag.

"Y/N... You didn't have to come in today... Like I said, I can't go to lunch today. I'm sorry." He did look truly disappointed in himself, almost like he'd done the calculations on whether or not he could grab lunch with you and get all his work done in time.

"Never fear boss! I brought lunch to you, whether or not you've eaten, but here we've got some home-made black bean soup! If you're busy I can drop this off, but if you want company I can stay and eat with you." You smiled as you set his Tupperware of soup on his desk with his spoon. You then perched yourself on his desk, your own soup in your hands, waiting for his signal.

"Y/N... This is so kind of you. Thank you for bringing me this. Please stay for lunch, it would be rude of me to turn you away after you spent so much time on this meal." You waved off his politeness, and started eating your creation.

It was glorious. Wow. The spices melded beautifully together in your mouth, the cream contrasted the spicy-salty black bean soup nicely, and every mouthful was warm and inviting as well as grounded in reality. The reality of deliciousness.

"Wow, Y/N. This is the best soup I've ever had. Are you sure you made this and you didn't buy it??" He questioned, a little bit of cream stuck above his upper lip. Without thinking, your hand went to his face and you wiped it right off, in an almost loving manner. His eyes widened, but he didn't say anything.

"You missed a spot there! No worries boss, I owed you lunch so I figured we could go out! But I do love cooking so this gave me an opportunity to play around with this soup." You hopped off his desk leaving his 3/4 eaten soup on the table.

"I've gotta bounce, but drop by later if you can, I've got more in the freezer!" And with those words you ran out of the agency, to enjoy the rest of your day off.

Sā exhaled deeply. You were one extra special hero and friend, that was for sure.
