"So, Y/N, why don't you ever use other facets of your quirk?" Sir Night Eye had called you into his office when you got to work this morning. You finished sipping your water, set it back down on its coaster, and thought about why you solely went invisible.

- Age 8 -

"Y/N, Y/N!" Your dad was at his wit's end with you. You'd gone invisible again, and he couldn't get you to return to the world of the visible. "Please honey, Daddy doesn't have time for this right now. I'll show you a magic trick if you become visible." He heard you giggle quietly, it narrowed down where you were in the living room, so he walked closer to your giggles.

"Well, Y/N, you know the rules... Only good girls get to see this super mystifying magic show AND chocolate ice cream. And right now, that means you've got to be visible. On the count of three, you're going to reappear and we can start the show." He heard your giggles continue, he knew he was getting closer and closer to you.

"One.... two... three!" He snatched you up, right as you released your quirk, giggles erupting from both of you at how silly this entire interaction had been.

"Ok, let's get ice cream, and then I'll show you the magic show, ok?" You nodded back to him, smile on your lips.

It had been a long road of grief and counseling for both of you, after your family had been slaughtered. One way your father was able to convince his ever-invisible daughter to release her quirk, was with ice cream and a magic light show. This method worked consistently until your PTSD or nightmares would trigger a fear induced silent, invisible state. Today, despite being frustrated with your antics, had been a good day.

You sat on the couch as your dad began juggling balls of light. He twirled around, throwing his arms up high then dropping low and catching these balls without fail. He then sent out light fireworks and flashes, letting the end of each firework trickle down onto your awestruck face. You were giggling and enjoying every moment.

- Back to the present -

"Well, it's never been something I associated with hero work. It's always been an emotional support system for me." You responded to Sā, after a few moments, you smiled at him.

"When I was little, after the incident, my dad would use his quirk of light manipulation to put on magic shows to make me laugh and smile. I only ever knew about my invisibility, until one day, when I was twelve, I came home from school and found my dad crying at the kitchen table." You paused, throat suddenly thick with emotion. Your father was the strongest man you knew, and when he let his guard down and allowed himself to be vulnerable, usually brought you to tears.

"He'd seen the news about a copy-cat killer, inspired by the Green Man, had finally been caught. His tears were a mix of gratitude that he'd been apprehended and grief and sadness that someone had mimicked that monster's modus operandi. So, I did the one thing that I knew would make him smile, I put on a light show." You thought back on the memory, he'd gasped with delight when he saw you create a ball of light for the first time. You began to juggle the balls, throwing them around the room, creating a light-yo-yo and doing tricks. You'd made him smile again.

"To be honest, I can't do too much with that side of my quirk as I've only ever used it to entertain children and lift my father's spirits. Which is the long answer to your very easy question. Short answer: I don't know too much about it, I only use it as a party trick." You smiled at your boss, he was a good man. Despite your qualms with him putting you on leave and treating you like a child sometimes, he was the perfect person to work for... and it didn't hurt that he was also incredibly attractive.

"Y/N... thank you for telling me. I remembered seeing you put on a light show for those children several months ago and hadn't seen anything like that since. I'm thankful for your gifts and abilities, however you choose to use them." He smiled at the end, so sweetly that your words came out without you thinking.

"Sā, do you want to go to dinner tonight?" You didn't preface it at all, didn't think about potential consequences, you hadn't spoken to the man like this in ages... and now you're asking him out to dinner?

"Y/N, I would love to go to dinner. Let's see if I finish my work in time. If I do, I'll pick you up from your place around 7:30, ok?" Your face was crimson, but your smile was giant and pearly white.

"You got it boss! Now get to work! I'm going to be so productive today you won't believe your eyes!" You laughed while you walked out of his office. He shook his head.

"Y/N, you're always insanely productive. Now... let's see if I can even focus now." He smiles gently, only you had the ability to discombobulate his world quite like this.

Hours later, after many cases had been filed and a quiet patrol, you packed your bad up and changed out of your hero suit.  Your phone buzzed as you were leaving the office for the day. Toshi's name flashed across the screen.

Toshi- Y/N, free tonight?
Y/N - hopefully grabbing dinner with Sā, but after that, no plans.
Toshi - cool.
Toshi- I'll text you around 10? See if you're still awake.
Y/N - copy copy! Be safe!

Weird. Toshi never texted quite like that, but, you'd take what you could get from the blonde bombshell.

- other side of the city -

"FUCK!" Fiery rage erupted from the Pro Hero.
"FUCK FUCK FUCK!"

"Endeavor... are you alright?" One of his more bold assistants asked.

"No... yes... fuck. Yes, everything is fine. Go back to work." And with that command he was alone in his office again.

For some reason, your face populated his thoughts at that very moment. As a result, he'd spilled his coffee all over himself. He didn't know what his thoughts meant exactly.... but he knew that he definitely needed a new pair of pants.
