TW: drug abuse

Sapnap's POV

Sapnap walked into the large intimidating hospital. He carried a mixture of emotions in with him. Fear...Regret...Love...Anxiety...Hope. He was wearing black, worn down jeans along with a white Nike crewneck that was slightly baggy on him. Along with him he brought a small brown bag full of clothes, money, a charger, and his computer.

If either of them are in super bad condition, there is no way I'm leaving this building till they do. If they got worse and I wasn't here to...if I wasn't here it would haunt me forever.

After receiving a sticker that read "Visitor's Pass" and sticking the rectangular shape to the top of his right leg, making it easier to read against the black material rather than the white cotton his shirt was made of. Sapnap turned down a hall towards the elevator's. The receptionist told him which floor he had to go to, and he wanted to get to George's room fast. Once he arrived on the correct floor, he quickly walked over to the next receptionist, the final step to seeing George.

"Hello sir what can I help you with?" The receptionist asked, the same question they always do. She was a much older women and spoke with a gentle voice.

"I'm looking for George Davidson's room? He came in early this morning unconscious?" Sapnap fidgeted with his fingers nervously as she began to type something on her computer, presumably looking up what room he is in.

"What's your name sir?"

Great

"It's Sa-Nick. Nick Armstrong." Sapnap cringed at the use of his biological name. He never let anyone use it, not even his own family. It was his dad's name, and his dad abandoned him when he was young for a new family. Other than the occasional birthday card full of "I'm Sorry" money that didn't mean shit to Sapnap, his dad was completely out of his life. He moved all the way to Canada with his new bitch and her son, who was the exact same age as Sapnap.

"Okay Nick, what is your relation to the patient?"

Seriously?

"We have been best friends since the end of the seventh grade. He practically lives with me and my mom is basically like the mom he doesn't have. The doctor told me to come in and give him some information about George." Sapnap grabbed onto the engraved ring he had hanging on a silver chain around his neck. When he was uncomfortable, like when his real name was used, it always helped if he had the ring to hold onto. It was from someone really special after all.

"Room 2959, around this corner," she pointed down the hallway to her left, "should be a few rooms down on your right I believe. If you can't find it ask a nurse for help. Have a nice day sir." The kind lady gave Sapnap a small grin before getting back to work on her computer.

Sapnap waisted no time in making his way down the instructed hallway. He knew he would be scolded if he started running, so he walked as fast as he could without it turning into a run. He turned the corner and slowed down, making it easier to read the numbers posted outside each hospital room.

2951...2953...2955...2957...2959.

The need to get to room 2559 as quick as possible instantly melted away, as the feeling of fear he carried in with him now took over like a blizzard had hit inside of him, chilling him from the inside out.

I need to go in there. Why aren't I moving. Why am I such a pussy. Damnit Sapnap MOVE.

After what felt like an hour to Sapnap but in reality was only about forty-five seconds, he took slow hesitant steps forward. Each step lifting the fear off his shoulders and replacing it with the feeling of hope.
