George's POV
George waited patiently at his bedroom desk. Clay had passed out, seemingly from exhaustion based on what the blonde said about needing sleep. George was worried, of course. There was a chance it was more serious. There was always that chance. Maybe it was the events from the hospital that had the brunette so anxious about it. Maybe it was reasonable to feel this way. Maybe it was because George knew deep down he was falling for this boy.
"mmph"
George shot up to his feet.
He made a noise. That's a good thing right? He's only been asleep for three hours. His vitals have been normal. He's waking up. He's gotta be waking up right?
"Clay? You up?" George whispered. No response.
Ugh. I want him to wake up, it's worrying me. I'm gonna call Sapnap.
George pulled his cell phone from his pocket and clicked the call button under his best friend's contact. It rang for a few seconds before he picked up.
"Hey George what's up?" Sapnap spoke in a pretty energetic voice.
"Hey Sapnap, could you come over by any chance?"
"Um, sure. I haven't been to Clay's yet though...is he okay with me being there?"
"He's asleep. That's why I need you. He slept in pretty late but after using the bathroom he just...passed out. He said something about needing sleep seconds before falling asleep so I don't think it's anything serious. I'm really anxious about it though so I'd really like if you-"
"I'll be right over, and I'll bring something to eat. Pasta from that local place sound good?"
"Y-yeah. You know what I like but I don't know what Clay would get."
"Me and him used to get shit from there all the time, I'll figure it out. See you soon."
The line went silent, Sapnap had hung up. George was relieved that Sapnap didn't seem too worried. It relaxed him a little.
One hour later
DING DONG
Finally.
George got up from his desk chair and let Sapnap in. They carried the food into the kitchen, setting it in the oven to keep it warm until they were ready.
"Follow me, he was stirring a little bit when you got here so maybe he will wake up if he hears us."
The two shorter boys made their way up the stairs and into the bedroom. The blonde was awake, sitting up in the bed rubbing his eyes. He was okay. Clay was okay.
"Oh hey guys." The tired male said groggily.
"How are you feeling, Clay? You passed out like three hours ago."
"I'm okay, I think I just needed more sleep." Clay smiled, letting out a yawn shortly after.
"Hey George why don't you go set up the food for us, I wanna talk to Clay for a minute." Sapnap suggested. George did as told and walked down the stairs. Shutting the door behind him.
Sapnap's POV
"Clay, have you been sleeping."
"What? Of course I have ask George."
Sapnap sighed, taking a seat next to the blonde. "You've been staying up to watch him, haven't you? To make sure he didn't have nightmares."
Clay looked down, searching for what to say. "Y-yeah. I have. I pretend to sleep until he falls asleep and I wait till he has a nightmare. I wake him up, comfort him, then we both actually sleep. I know I know. It's not healthy, but I couldn't live with myself if he had another dangerous one and I slept through it. It would be my fault if he got hurt. Please, let me do this for him."
