One Month After Clay Went To The Hospital

George's POV

One month. It had been One month since the boys first arrived here with Clay's fading life. It had also been weeks since George had touched the journal. He knew he should keep trying, should keep searching for answers. He just couldn't bring himself to do so. The nightmares still continued of course.

It was about noon when George finally opened his eyes, Sapnap up before him for once. George slowly turned his head to get a glance of what was going on, not that anything real interesting ever was. Just a bunch of lifeless dull walls that made everything more depressing, the repetitive beeping of monitors that made George want to rip the hair out of his head, the cold temperature of the room that always swallowed George whole, and the distant shuffling of feet passing the room from time to time.

"Oh you're awake!" Sapnap noticed, a cheerful tone to his words.

"Why do you sound happy? Our best friend is still unconscious, still in that bed, and nothing has changed. Why the hell do you sound happy?!" George yelled at his friend. He had began to grow easily frustrated with Sapnap the past few days.

"They're gonna wake him up!"

George's breath hitched and his heart skipped a beat.

"What do you mean. This isn't funny Sapnap." George said sternly, sitting up from his laying position.

"It's not funny because it isn't a joke! The doctor came in here an hour ago. That's what woke me up. He was checking the brain activity and other science stuff, like he does everyday. He said he saw improvement this time. Obviously he has been improving little by little every day but nothing major till now. He said the brain stuff has gotten better, better enough for them to take him out of the coma!" Sapnap cheered, his eyes watering with tears of joy.

George jumped to his feet, a smile on his face for the first time in what seemed to be forever. "When! When are they doing it????"

"Any minute now, they are gonna reverse the drugs used to put him under and he should slowly wake up!" Sapnap stood up from the chair he was seated in beside Clay's bed and consumed George in a huge hug. Something they rarely did, making it extra special.

As if on cue, the doctor walked into room once filled with agony, but now overflowing with hope.

"Hello Gentlemen." The doctor said, a small laugh escaping as he saw the boy's hugging.

They let go of each other, turning to the doctor. "Hi Dr. Anderson, is it time?" George smiled at the middle aged doctor. He had always been so kind to them during this time.

"Indeed it is, let me walk you through how this is gonna go," The three males took a seat together. The two young boys filled with excitement and anxiety.

.......................

It was about three hours later, and the boys were left patiently waiting for their loved one to awaken. The doctor said it could take awhile for Clay to fully wake up, and to expect some possible confusion and agitation. They were ready, all that mattered to the both of them was that their friend would be okay. Awake and okay.

.......................

Seven hours since the process started. They were still waiting. George was sat in a chair right next to the left side of Clay's bed, Sapnap in a chair right beside the brunette. George was holding Clay's hand in his own, slow lying grazing the blonde's skin with his thumb as he stared at the empty ceiling. Sapnap had his arms on the foot of the bed, with his head resting in them.
