A/N: hannahmoonlark007 requested a part 2, so that's what I'm gonna do!

Also, I would like to reach 30 followers by the end of February, so tell your friends! Tell your neighbors! Tell the creepy cat lady who lives two doors down who used to babysit you when you were three!

Fitz smiled reassuringly at her. "He'll come back. I promise you that."

"Thanks Fitz."

He wrapped an arm around her shoulders, and she tensed a little. She was so used to Keefe doing that... no. She couldn't think about him. Doing so could break her, and that would cause way to many problems.

So she relaxed into Fitz, hard-heartedly laughing at the jokes he tried to make. But both of their minds were elsewhere.

(6 Months Later)

Sophie sat along the cliff edge, swinging her feet back and forth, back and forth. The sun was setting dramatically against a deep blue ocean. And the shoreline far below was the color of... the color of...

His eyes.

They haunted her day and night. The icy blue tone shined with light of a thousand diamonds. Sometimes when the shadows hit them just right, his eyes looked like waves crashing down.

She missed him.

Sophie hadn't come into contact with him for over six months, and every day felt like torture. She desperately wanted to hear one of his jokes, see his smirk, feel his soft hair on her fingertips. Anything.

She sighed and stood up. There was no reason to dwell in the past. He was gone.

But... he was... here?

"Keefe?"

"Sophie!"

Keefe ran to her, arms outstretched, but stopped two feet away.

"Look, I'm... I'm sorry for leaving. With everything going on I just needed time to... no. Now I'm just making excuses. I left because I had to learn to control my abilities. And... I had to protect you." He walked forward and lightly held her cheek. "I couldn't bear the thought of hurting you, so I left. But I've figured out how to control it. I'm ready to fight again. With you."

"Oh Keefe!" Sophie ran into his arms, giving him a huge hug. He stood there, surprised, before embracing her back. "I missed you so much!"

"Thanks Foster."

They stood there long after the sun set, talking and laughing. Sophie had her first good night in a long long time.
