REMUS' EYES locked with Thalia's as they walked out of the classroom. He frowned for a second when she looked away, walking off with Maeve as he stood there. Someone clapped him on the back and he looked to his left, watching as Sirius stared at him. "Staring at Frilio?" He smirked. Remus merely rolled his eyes and pushed him away, smiling lightly at the boy.

"Sure, watching how weird she is with me," he told him. Sirius rolled his eyes and waved James over as they walked towards their Divination class. James jogged over to meet the boys and he smirked at Remus, poking his ribs. "Congrats high scholar, getting the spell on the first try," he said.

Remus smacked his hands away and rolled his eyes again, shaking his head. "It's not terribly hard," he told them, stuffing his hands into his robe pockets. The group walked down the hallway, poking fun at each other as they reached the Divination classroom. They walked through the door and greeted McGonagall as they sat in their assigned seats.

"What about you and Maeve?" Remus asked Sirius, wanting to divert the conversation away from him and, as James called her, "mystery girl."

He watched as Sirius pulled a face, propping his head up on his hand as he looked at Remus. "What's there to say? She's an annoying bitch who doesn't know the difference between her mouth and her ass," he said. Remus' eyes went wide for a second as he watched James bust out into laughter, watching as Sirius joined in. Him and Peter merely stared at the two for a second before they found themselves smiling along with them.

James had calmed down before his gaze reached the doorway of the classroom. "Lily! Come here!" He bellowed, waving the redhead over to them. Remus turned around and watched as she walked reluctantly over to the group. She tucked a piece of hair behind her ear before she stopped at the edge of their little circle, staring at them.

"Yes?" She asked, staring at James.

"What do you think of Lupin and Frilio?" He teased, smirking at Remus. He merely rolled his eyes, reaching down to grab his quill and ink from his bag to try and avoid eye contact. He didn't even know why they cared so much, it's not like he even knew his feelings for her either. The group merely felt strange for Maeve, mainly because Sirius hated her. Apparently it was because she associated herself with Narcissa for a bit, but ultimately stopped hanging out with her when Narcissa began dating Lucius Malfoy.

Sirius still held a grudge.

"Well, it looks like she doesn't like you much-," she commented, staring at Lupin. "-and from the looks of it, I can't tell if you like her or if you're simply trying to figure her out." Remus looked at her for a second and thought about it. He didn't know if he hated her, but he definitely wasn't opposed to it.

"We'll go with the latter for now," he told her, watching as she nodded her head.

James scoffed and threw up his arms for a second, looking between the two of them. "Well where's the fun in that?!" He asked, staring at him. Remus just smirked at him, turning towards the front of the class and leaning on his elbows. He truly didn't know how to feel about this girl, whether he was meant to hate her or not. Remus always tried looking at the positive in people; he wanted to see whether or not they were going to be worth it in the end.

That was his biggest downfall. He had a hard time trusting people, whether they were hard to read like Thalia, or an open book like James. Remus tried shoving the thought into the back of his mind, not wanting to think about it anymore. He was done trying to figure out the mystery that laid beyond Thalia Frilio. He was quite tired of it; all of the sleepless nights and dragged out mornings. He wasn't getting anywhere, so he merely thought that he could just let it slide.

Professor McGonagall walked to the front of the classroom, tapping her wand against the black board as words written in chalk spread across it. She stared at the class and smiled at them, starting her speech that she always made at the beginning of class.

Remus didn't listen to any of it.

"We should have a beginning of the year party!" Sirius shouted, suddenly standing up from the arm chair he had occupied just moments ago. Remus looked up at the boy from his book, raising an eyebrow at his sudden outburst.

"Erm, hate to break it to you Sirius, but we're already a month into school," Remus said. Sirius merely looked down at him and frowned, crossing his arms.

"Yes, and?" He asked, still staring at Remus.

Remus merely shrugged and looked back at his book, trying to find his spot again. "Nothing, just that you're a bit daft sometimes," he commented, trying to hold back a smirk. Sirius mocked being hurt, clutching a hand to his chest, swooning back into the arm chair he was sitting in.

"I'm wounded, really. Oh no, don't help me Remus, I'll just die alone," he said. Remus rolled his eyes at his friend, not wanting to hear anymore of his dramatic retellings.

"You're ridiculous, you know that?" He said.

Sirius merely chuckled and relaxed into the chair, closing his eyes as he got comfortable again. "Yeah, I know," he said. Then, the door to the Gryffindor common room swung open, revealing a very sweaty looking James as he walked towards the two boys. He was panting and was swaying about as he collapsed on the other side of the couch.

Remus raised his eyebrows at the sight of his friend, wondering why the hell he looked so winded. All the while, James sat there panting while Sirius closed his eyes again, crossing his arms as he tried taking a nap. "I just-" James started, talking in between pants.

"-I just saw, Thalia Frilio and Peter talking," he finished. Remus and Sirius both perked up at the sound of hers and Peter's names. Remus furrowed his eyebrows at what James had just said, leaning closer to the boy.

"What?" He asked, waiting for an answer.

"I saw...Thalia Frilio...And Peter...Chatting," he panted.

"Yes we heard you the first time, we mean about what," Sirius chimed in, now leaning forward in his chair.

James took more time to catch his breath as he closed his eyes and gulped, wishing that he had some water. Meanwhile, Remus' thoughts went haywire again. He wondered what the hell she could have wanted with Peter, what the hell Peter would even do talking to a girl like that. It made him feel on edge, like something was going to happen to Peter because he was talking to the mysterious girl who knew how to cast a Patronus charm already.

Remus immediately brought his index finger up to his lips, beginning to chew at his nubs of finger nails. James never responded back, he ended up falling asleep on the couch as Remus thought about the possibilities that lead to unanswered questions, and he wanted to get to the bottom of it.
