REMUS LUPIN had gotten his clothes back eventually. It took a trip to the Ravenclaw common room, but he was relieved to find that his clothes had been neatly folded and placed on the coach's side table. He looked around the common room for a second, looking to see if anyone was around to thank. But, he stood alone in the dark blue room, sighing as he stepped back outside.

His footsteps echoing around the hallway of the castle, ricocheting back into his ears as he walked. It was fairly early in the morning when he set out to go get his clothes; the sun hadn't even rose yet. But as he walked, the sun began to peak over the edges of the Scottish Hills, giving the sky a blue glow.

A yawn escaped Remus' lips as he made his way back to the Gryffindor common room. He silently thanked the gods above that it was the weekend, otherwise he would've been doomed that next morning if he had classes.

As he stepped foot into his dorm room, he saw the sleeping figures of his friends, laid haphazardly in their beds. Limbs were spread and hair was a mess as he walked closer, trying to suppress a smile at the drool the dribbled down Peter's cheek.

Remus quickly placed his clothes into the hamper and took off his robe, placing it back into the dresser. He crawled back into his warm bed and snuggled closer to his pillow, pulling the covers over himself as he stared at the wall. He wondered who had placed his clothes on the side table. It was like they knew he was going to be there.

He dismissed the thought and decided to close his eyes, focusing on his breathing as he drifted to sleep.

__________

Remus had only gotten about 4 hours of sleep before his friends decided to drag him into the common room to talk with Lily, Marlene, and Alice. Normally he wouldn't have minded, but since he was running on a mere 4 hours he felt delirious and slightly annoyed. It was currently 9 a.m. and the Gryffindor common room was buzzing with students enjoying their weekend.

He was currently sitting on the worn out couch in front of the fire, drifting in and out of consciousness as he tried his hardest to stay awake. He sighed as he listened to a story James was telling, watching with blurry vision as James waved his hands about and wrapped an arm around Lily.

"I'm going to the kitchens," he grumbled, standing up from his seat. Everyone watched as he got up, not hearing what he said earlier.

"Where are you going?" Marlene asked, watching as Remus clumsily made his way out of the room.

He merely gestured backwards with his hand, waving them off. "Just for a walk, don't wait up," he said. Remus opened the portrait, stepping through it and shutting it behind him.

"Sneaking off?" The Fat Lady asked, eyeing the boy.

Remus turned around and smiled at her, walking backwards. "Something like that," he told her. She hummed in response and Remus began his journey through the halls of Hogwarts.

The October air was chilly, nipping at Remus' warm skin as he wrapped his arms around himself. He was already wearing a jumper that his mother had made him, as well as baggy trousers to keep himself warm. He watched as other students scurried their way to the Great Hall, enjoying breakfast at a later hour than the normal one of 7 a.m. ( it got a bit tiring after awhile, it was a nice break. )

Instead of going towards the Great Hall, he took a detour and made his way towards the Hufflepuff common room, stopping just before it as he tickled the pear painting on the wall. It bubbled a little before the doorknob surfaced, revealing a door. He opened it and relished in the immediate warmth of the kitchens, quickly stepping inside.

Remus was met with the bustling of the kitchen and the sounds of the house elves preparing for lunch later that day.

"Ah, another guest. Good afternoon, Mr. Lupin!" A house elf said, looking up at him. Remus smiled back at the elf, squatting down so he was eye level with them.

"Good afternoon, how are you?" He asked.

"Oh, Annie is very well. Did you need something, sir?" She asked, looking at him.

Remus nodded his head, smiling softly at her. "I was here for a cup of coffee," he told her.

Annie's eyes lit up and she smiled at him, quickly waving him to the side. "Yes! Annie will get that for you, sir. You can sit over there, sir," she said, scampering away to fulfill his order. Remus laughed quietly, standing up and turning around.

His eyes immediately met the bright hair of Thalia Frilio. She was sitting on an empty counter, eating a croissant as she read a book. Her legs were crossed on the table and her black nails were stark against her food and the yellow cover of her book. Her finger tapped against her croissant as she read; lifting it every few seconds to take a bite.

Remus sighed and headed over to the opposite side of the table, sitting down and leaning back on his hands. He merely watched as the house elves cooked effortlessly for the students. He smiled at the smell of the kitchen - it reminded him of when his mother used to cook for him as a child. The afternoons of soup and homecooked meals, the summer air drifting through the windows as the curtains fluttered and tickled his arms.

His smile dropped a bit when he remembered a few years ago, before he went into his third year of school. Him and his mother got into a bit of a fight before he left, mainly about his scars.

Monster.

His thoughts were interrupted when Annie said his name, holding out a cup of coffee for him. Remus quickly smiled at her, thanking her as she scampered away. Her footsteps were quickly muffled by the sounds of the kitchen, leaving Remus with his cup of coffee. He took a sip before he sighed, turning to the side.

"Remus Lupin, what a surprise."
