"THALIA I'M not cut out for this," Maeve called from behind the curtain. She rustled a bit behind it, stretching and adjusting the clothing on her body as Thalia sat in a chair outside of the dressing room. She sat with a slight smile on her face, watching as the curtain rustled and moved.

"Oh come on, it can't be that bad. Let's see it!" She called out, clapping her hands a bit.

There was sigh from Maeve as she reluctantly pulled the curtain back, revealing the costume she had on. She was wearing a black and white mini skirt that puffed out at her waist with a light pink corset. There was a pair of fake fairy wings sticking out from her back that was an iridescent purple and pink.

Thalia raised her eyebrows at her friend, taking in her outfit. She looked hot. Thalia wasn't one for revealing outfits, but she promised Maeve that they would match just so Maeve wouldn't feel out of place.

"Wow, okay. Maybe now I have to step up my game," Thalia smiled, watching as Maeve turned around in the mirror.

"I don't know, Tal..." She mumbled, pulling down her skirt and pulling up the corset a little bit.

Thalia placed her hands on the edges of the chair, pushing herself up off of it and walked over to Maeve. She placed her hands on her shoulders and placed her chin over her right one, looking at her in the mirror.

"You look beautiful, Mae. I don't know how else to convince you. If it helps, I'll be wearing the same thing. You're not alone you," she whispered, trying to console her friend.

With a deep inhale, Maeve nodded her head and gave Thalia a small smile. Thalia smiled back and gave Maeve's shoulder a slight squeeze, pulling back and shutting the curtain as she stepped back into the costume shop.

"I'll be grabbing mine! I'll just be over in the back," she said.

"Okay," Maeve's muffled voice sounded from the other side of the curtain.

Thalia smiled and grabbed her bag from the chair, slinging it over her shoulder. She made her way to the back of the shop, picking out her costume. She picked the same black and white mini skirt with a different colored corset and a pair of matching fairy wings. Thalia grabbed 2 pairs of fish nets too, hoping she could convince Maeve to wear them.

The curtains to the dressing room slung back as Maeve stepped out in her normal clothes, slinging her own bag around her shoulder. She walked over to Thalia, holding her own costume in her hands. Thalia looked over her shoulder at Maeve, watching as she walked up to her.

"Ready?" Thalia asked, handing Maeve her fishnets.

"What are these for?" Maeve asked, examining the packaging.

"You."

"Wow Sherlock Holmes, you really are remarkable," Maeve started, "I meant, why are you handing me these?"

"Oh, you're wearing them."

"I'm doing what now?"

Thalia rolled up the mesh material in her hands, balling it up so she could slip her foot inside. She stretched the material so it went over her leg, tickling it as she drew it up further. Once she got the fishnets above her knee, she balled up the other leg, repeating the process. She quickly stood up and pulled the fishnets up her legs.

Reaching towards the bed, she grabbed her black and white skirt, pulling it up to her waist and buttoning the side of it. Thalia reached down and grabbed the hem of her shirt, pulling it up and over her head, discarding it onto the floor. She grabbed the dark blue corset from the bed, quickly pulling it over her head.

Thalia adjusted her top, making sure nothing was poking out as she looked at herself in the mirror. Her eyes caught the scar on her shoulder, pink around the edges and jagged. She stopped fiddling with the corset for a moment, quickly shutting her eyes and swallowing. With her eyes closed, she turned around and continued tightening and tying the ribbon on her back.

Once she was turned around, Thalia opened her eyes and looked back at the mirror, watching as she tightened her corset. She went down each row of ribbons, tightening the silver material and tying it in a bow at the bottom. Thalia turned around again, making sure not to look at her shoulder, as she examined herself.

Her eyes quickly caught her magenta hair, as bright as it was when she first dyed it. It didn't match her outfit at all, the pink being stark against the dark blue like a younger sibling who wouldn't leave you alone.

She grabbed her wand, tapping her hair and mumbling colovaria. Thalia had to do it a couple times, going through hair colors until she landed on a silver color. It matched the color of the ribbons on the back of her corset, as well as the designs on the front of it.

Smiling to herself, she tucked her wand into her thigh before she left her dorm, locking the door behind her. Thalia made her way down the stairs, passing a few other people doing shots in the common room before they got to the annual Gryffindor Halloween Party. It was always a large event that everyone went to ( fourth year and above, of course. ) It didn't matter if you didn't like them, there were so many people there it was doubtful you'd even run into the person you hated.

Thalia slipped out of the Ravenclaw common room, making her way towards the Slytherin common room. As she walked through the halls, her heels clicked and her faux wings tapped against her back with every step she took. It allowed her to think for a moment, wondering what the hell she was getting herself into.

Why was she going to a party filled with people that she hated? Why was she going to a party period? Especially a party hosted by the Marauders. She never wanted to affiliate herself with them, yet she found herself being closer to them then she ever was before.

She hated it.
