Alone Together

Chapter 2: Witchy Senses

Rogue was awake and Juliet had fed her once more and gotten her a drink. She had even made Logan a sandwich and gotten him a beer. The woman was now asleep on the bed, but she was a light sleeper. "Maybe you should put your seatbelt on.", Juliet's eyes opened and glowed as a tree fell suddenly and their truck hit the tree, Logan flew through the windshield and Juliet followed. She landed on top of Logan and groaned. She felt bones healing and blood moving back into her body. She stood up and Logan was still down, "Really, metal head? Wake up.", she shook her head, "Hey kid, you okay?", Rogue nodded, "I'm stuck!", Logan woke up as Juliet walked forward but he grabbed her. "Someone else is here.", she nodded and her eyes searched the forest. She lifted her hands and caught the man who jumped from the tree with her powers, her eyes glowing. She threw him toward Logan and the man tackled him. Juliet ran toward the truck and was tackled by the man. She hissed out in annoyance and used her powers to enter his mind. He stumbled and she stood up and got to the truck. "Look out!", but it was too late. A wooden stake went through her abdomen and Logan was knocked out. Rogue began to panic as the blonde man stalked toward her, but a snowstorm kicked up. A flash of red happened and two people were at her side. A white haired lady with brown eyes and a  brunette man with weird glasses over his eyes. Storm grabbed Rogue away from the truck and Cyclops grabbed Logan, "Wait! Juliet!", Storm turned to grab the woman but the truck exploded. The three gasps and Rogue started crying, but the fire was contained in her powers and she walked through the flames her eyes glowing and her clothes in tatters. She stumbled and fell down. Rogue running forward, "Help her! Please!", and the two Mutants grabbed the two unconscious adults and lead the teen to their jet.

Hours later, Juliet woke up in a weird room. She was surrounded by medical equipment. She quickly ripped the wires out and got rid of the needles. She swallowed and glanced around. She needed to find Logan and Rogue. She didn't know Logan was already awake and that he was freaking out. She walked toward the door and it opened. She glanced around and frowned, "Logan?", there was no answer. She felt her heartbeat pick up and her mind started to panic. What if he wasn't okay? Logan was in the Professor's office when he heard her heart, "Jules.", and he rushed out of the office with the XMen following him. He found his way back to the weird tunnels and she rounded a corner, her eyes filled with tears and she rushed forward and held him. "I thought you were gone.", he held her and closed his eyes. "I'm okay, Jules. I'm here.", Jean softly smiled at the pair and Charles did as well. Juliet's eyes opened and she looked at the man, "You're telepathic. You have telekinesis and telepathy as well.", the two nodded and she softly smiled, "Hi, I'm Juliet. You can call me Jules.", she held her hand out and the two shook her hands,"Thank you, for saving us. The girl, Rogue, is she okay? That man didn't hurt her, did he?", Storm smiled, "She has accepted our offer of staying here. At the mansion.", Juliet smiled, "Good. I'm assuming this is a home for Mutants. I can hear all their minds and sense their powers. Some of them are very strong, scared of what they can do. Rogue. I think she drains energy force. And if she touches a mutant, she accesses their powers.", the group looked at her, the brunette man spoke, "What are you powers?", she softly smiled, "Regeneration, telekinesis, energy manipulation, and neuroelectric interfacing.", Charles softly smiled, "That's interesting. How did you learn to control it?", she looked at Logan, "I had to. We left home at a young age. Our parents threw us out. Logan's powers weren't as violent as mine. First I started with moving and destroying small things then I would put them back together. Then I would move Logan around. Then I'd move our truck. Then I would send dreams to him in his sleep or make bad men see their worst fears.", she swallowed, "Then one day, I woke up and it's like I had been in control for years. Logan taught me how to fight incase I was ever in a situation where my powers weren't good enough. As we traveled, I learned to read people and could find who we could swindle so we had money for essentials. Looking into peoples' minds so we could survive. So there was no risk of him getting hurt.", the brunette man nodded, "She's much nicer than you.", Juliet laughed, "As many have said.", he nodded, "I'm Scott.", the white haired woman smiled, "Call me Storm.", she nodded, "Of course.", she glanced around, "So. I am very much nearly naked. Might I get some clothes and food?", and the group chuckled. Logan handed her the hoodie he had found and she zipped it up, "Thanks, bub.", Jean smiled, "Are you siblings?", Juliet shook her head, "No, we've known each other since childhood. When our parents realized we had powers, they kicked us out and called us monsters. We stuck together.", they nodded and she softly smiled, "So. Food and clothes.", and Scott laughed. Logan glared, "C'mon, witchy. I'll show you the way.", and the two walked away. "I'll need to run more tests!", Juliet nodded at Jean and Logan frowned, "He will keep her safe. She is in good hands.", and the two went back into one of the rooms so Jean could look over him again.

Scott was showing Juliet around, "Juliet!", and the woman smiled as she found Rogue. "Rogue!", the two carefully hugged and Juliet looked her over. Relief filling her, "You're safe.", Scott softly smiled at the scene and Juliet smiled at the girl, "I see you've already made some friends.", the two looked at the boy and three girls standing looking at them, "Yeah, that's Bobby and Kitty. They've been really nice since I've gotten here.", Juliet smiled, "That's good. Go back to your friends. I'll be here later.", Rogue nodded and the two hugged again and the girl ran back to her friends. Scott lead her to the kitchen and she smiled as he made her sandwich and handed her a water. "So, what is your relationship with him? He seems too, douchey, to be your friend.", she giggled and shook her head, "Logan just has, a past. There's parts of our pasts we don't remember. But I do remember that my powers didn't always physically show themselves and that his bod wasn't always made up of all metal. We just woke up like that one day. But I know that isn't possible. Something happened to us, something bad. And even though we can't remember it, subconsciously we know. He has night terrors sometimes. They're only flashes but I seen people in weird suits and him in a weird tank. I see myself locked in a small space.", she swallowed as she looked down, "I don't know what it means or what happened to us, but whatever it was wasn't good. Logan knows that subconsciously and he's a protector. He always has been. He's scared something bad is going to happen again.", she looked at Scott and he softly smiled, "I used to almost be normal, but now well my eyes glow purple and purple energy shows itself whenever I use my powers.", he softly smiled, "I think it's cool.", she chuckled and moved her hand and a wisp of the purple energy moved around her fingers. He smiled at her and Storm walked in, "Are we showing party tricks? Don't we tell the kids not to do that?", Juliet blushed and dropped her hand, "Sorry, I would hate to set a bad example.", and Storm chuckled. "Jean is ready for you.", she nodded and she finished her sandwich and grabbed the water bottle. Her eyes wandered the hallway and her mind noted hidden passages and doors as she walked.

Jean took a few scans and Juliet sat as the group looked at them, "I was tested when I was younger. I have a genius level intelligence. I don't know why but I do.", Logan stood by her and she handed him her water bottle. He smiled down at her and she smiled back, "Why would this Magneto guy want us? I mean. We were knocked out, his man didn't need to grab Rogue. He could have taken us and run.", Charles spoke, "Maybe he didn't want any witnesses.", she nodded but her eyebrows farrowed. Logan noticed and he thumped her forehead, she glared and hit his kneecap with her powers. He stumbled and she smiled as he sent her a look. Storm smiled and Scott chuckled. She glanced around and she smiled at the two. "It's getting late. We should let them go to bed.", Juliet spoke, "I know it isn't traditional but we can share a room.", Charles looked at her and Logan softly smiled, "Two beds will be fine. If possible.", Charles frowned. She was scared he would leave without her. She didn't want to be without him. He was her lifeline.
