Chapter 3: Okay

It was the middle of the night when Logan began to stir. Juliet woke up and Rogue was standing over him, "Rogue!", but it was too late, Logan jumped awake and stabbed her through the chest. Juliet moved quickly and she grabbed Rogue, "Touch me. It's okay.", Rogue nodded and black veins covered both of them as Rogue used Juliet to heal herself. Juliet fell and Logan caught her. She struggled to stand but she did. "It's okay. I'm okay. And so are you.", Juliet closed the door to keep the students from watching and she softly smiled at Rogue, "I should have woken sooner. I am sorry.", Juliet kissed the top of Rogue's head, "Go back to sleep. It's okay. You had to. You understand me? You're okay.", Rogue left the room and the students parted like the Red Sea. Juliet glared at them and she felt her knees give and she hit the floor. Scott and Logan moved to catch her. "I need rest. Everything is fine.", Jean frowned, "I need to run some tests.", Juliet shook her head, "I am okay. Go find Rogue. She needs comfort. And tell those shitheads that if anyone says shit to her.", her eyes glowed, "I'll give them nightmares.", Logan picked her up and the four others left. "She could have used me, little one.", Juliet snorted, "No, she needed to know it was her choice. Are you okay?", he softly smiled, "Are you with me?", she smiled back as her eyes closed, "Always.", and the two fell back asleep.

Logan woke up alone, which wasn't abnormal, but it worried him after last night. "She is fine. Both of them are.", Charles was in the room, "Juliet wanted to read early this morning and I showed her to the library. I think she nearly had a heart attack at the amont or books.", Logan chuckled, "She loves to learn. She always has. It's why teaching herself control didn't seem like much of a deal to her. But to everyone else it's an amazing feat.", Charles nodded, "You're welcome to breakfast. Scott is getting Juliet as we speak.", the two men left the room and went to the kitchen. Where there was coffee, juice, eggs, pancakes, waffles, toasts, biscuits and gravy, and an assortment of cereals and milks to choose from. Logan smiled when he saw Rogue but she was standing away from everyone and she looked scared. Juliet walked in and her eyes landed on his before she looked at Rogue. She moved forward and Rogue left. Juliet stopped and Logan saw the hurt in her eyes. She looked down and Scott placed a hand on her shoulder. She softly smiled and moved to the island and got some pancakes, bacon, eggs, and a bottle of water. She sat down at the table and Logan joined her, "She'll need time, Jules. Last night probably scared her pretty bad.", Juliet looked down, "I know but. I don't want her to be afraid. None of us are mad or upset. I don't want her to think we are.", in that moment Logan realized that somehow the girl was now taken under Juliet's wing and in her heart. Like a daughter. "She will need space, Jules. You'll need to give it to her.", Juliet nodded and she ate in silence after that. "Scott, is there a place I can safely play with my powers?", Scott nodded and lead her away as Jean collected Logan for x-rays.

It was nearly evening time when Juliet walked around the school and she couldn't sense Rogue anywhere. Her eyes were filled with concern when she ran into Bobby, "Where is Rogue?", he sighed, "I invited her to sit by the fountain at lunch earlier to take her mind off last night but she never showed up.", Juliet frowned and farrowed her eyebrows, "Where is the Professor?", Bobby nodded at a hidden door, "They were looking over Logan's tests earlier.", Juliet softly thanked him and made her way to the door, it opened and she went downstairs, unaware that an intruder had walked by her without her noticing.

She ran into the exam room that held Storm, Logan, Charles, Jean, and Scott, "Where is she?", Charles looked at her and frowned, "Rogue is missing.", Juliet went into panicked mom mode, "Can we find her?", Scott and Logan moved to stand beside her and she grabbed each of their hands. Her eyes began to glow and Jean softly smiled, "We will find her, Jules. We will bring her back.", Juliet nodded and Logan squeezed her hand as he heard her heartbeat. Scott looked at her and Jean frowned. This woman was so scared for a little girl she just met. "We can use Cerebro.", Juliet frowned, "Doesn't that mean brain in spanish?", and the group chuckled. Charles lead them to another room at the end of the corridor near the room she had spent about two hours in earlier just playing with her powers. She frowned, "Something is wrong.", her eyes started to glow as she felt uneasy though she had no idea way. Juliet held Logan's hand and he squeezed it to let her know he was there.

Something was wrong with the Professor's machine. It hurt him and now he was in a medical bed. Juliet was sitting with Storm waiting and Logan was pacing the hallway. "We need to find her.", Juliet nodded and her mind was wandering and wandering quickly. Jean flinched at the seemingly endless thoughts that came from her mind. "She's scared, alone, has nowhere to go. Where would you go if you were running away?", they all looked at her, "Train stations nearby?", Storm smiled, "Genius.", Juliet blushed and Scott nodded, "We can suit up and find her.", Jean was fixing the machine when the door closed, "Jean!", and Juliet gasped, "Get the door opened. She can't handle it.", Scott moved quickly and the door was opened, Jean told them and Juliet smiled as she was proved right. Storm and Scott decided they didn't need Logan and Juliet but Logan knew by the look in his companion's eyes that she wasn't sitting behind. She was going to the train station and he was going with her.
