Chapter 4: Destroy Not Understand

Being that Juliet and Logan didn't need to suit up they left quickly after the group of adults dismissed themselves. Logan lead her to the garage and Juliet raised an eyebrow, "The motorcycle.", the two adults quickly got on and were gone in only a few seconds. About 5 minutes later, Scott and Storm entered the garage and Scott frowned. "Where's my motorcycle?", and the two realized what had happened. Logan and Juliet were gone.

Juliet glanced at Logan, "Check the train, I'll check the station. Go, quickly.", he nodded and the two split up. Juliet began asking ticket masters and security guards about Rogue but noone was sure they had seen the girl. Juliet frowned and closed her eyes so she could reach out mentally with her powers. Logan had found her, she was on the train. Juliet sighed but froze. Scott and Storm were there, along with the man who attacked them on the road and two others. She looked around and noticed a commotion near the ticket terminal. Storm was picked up and she looked over toward Scott. She glared and her energy threw the frog guy from Scott but his glasses were still pulled away. Her eyes widened and her energy held up the debris. She took a deep breath and gently threw it out because she knew she couldn't hold it forever. She ran toward Scott and looked around. Where the hell were his glasses? "Scott.", he sighed, "I've never been so glad to see someone in my life.", she chuckled and she closed her eyes. Storm was struggling against Sabertooth and Juliet glanced over and his mind was invaded. He flinched at the screams and pain filling his brain and that gave Storm an opening. Her eyes turned white and Sabertooth was struck by lightning. She glanced around and noticed the frog trying to escape. She glared and he stopped moving. But she heard something that made her freeze. Logan had sent her a message. He wasn't after us. He wanted her. She swallowed and the frog got away but not before he could make off with Scott's glasses. They were ripped from his hold and he got burnt a bit from the violet energy. Juliet put his glasses on and she softly smiled. "Hey.", he hugged her and Storm ran over. "Magneto has her.", and the trio quickly left the station to find Logan. Juliet helped him up and he held her close. "I'm sorry, little one.", she rolled her eyes, "We will get her back. I mean, it'll be like taking candy from a baby. We weren't ready this time. We will be next time.", and the four went outside. Scott and Storm noted how Juliet had placed the debris in the safest place possible. So noone could get harmed. She glanced around. "Oh man. Scott, I'm so sorry.", he followed her line of sight to see a police car on top of his motorcycle and she frowned, "We even filled it up for you.", he chuckled and noticed how upset she looked, "Wasn't your fault. Besides, it needed an upgrade anyways.", she softly smiled and the group got into the car with Jean and the Professor. "Glad to see you up and about, Gramps.", Charles laughed and he looked at the girl, "I saw what happened when I looked into Sabertooth's mind. You're very strong and in control. Good job, Juliet.", she blushed and the group chuckled as Jean drove them back to the school.

They were giving a game plan when there was a knock on the door. Juliet decided to answer as she didn't have much to contribute to the planning process. Charles sent her a look at her thoughts but said nothing. She opened the door, "Senator? Are you okay?", he looked at her, "I'm looking for Doctor Jean Grey.", he fell and she yelped has she caught him using his powers. The group jogged over and Logan helped her carry the Senator downstairs to the lab.

Juliet had fallen asleep at some point in the night in the library. Logan had wandered around to find her. Charles lead him to the library. She was asleep on the couch with a book on her chest. Logan softly smiled as he walked forward and moved the book before gently shaking her. Her eyes opened and she softly smiled, "Hey, Logan.", he grinned, "Hi, little one.", she stretched and sat up with a yawn, "How is he?", Charles spoke up, "We were just about to go find out.", she nodded and Logan helped her up and the trio went back down to the labs, getting joined by Storm and Scott on the way. They walked into the lab and the Senator looked at them. His eyes looking at the girl who had stayed with him up until Jean had told her she had to leave. Juliet went back to his side and held his hand. He smiled at her and she smiled back. She didn't listen to the medical talk but the Senator spoke, "I didn't know where else to go. The hospital, they would have.", Juliet finished, "Treated you like a mutant?", he nodded and she softly smiled, "Scary, isn't it? To be scared to go someplace in fear of being turned away simply because of your DNA? We have some extra chromosomes is all. We are still human. But people have been treating mutants bad for generations. Testing on them, persecuting them, abusing them, killing them. All because we're different.", her eyes looked around the room, "You know, we're lucky ones.", she looked back at him with a soft smile, "We all have control of our powers and a place we call home. Think off all the people on the streets that don't have that and how many of them are mutant because their own families don't want them around. If mutants identified themselves, we'd have a modern day holocaust. Round up the mutants and any mutant sympathizers.", she blinked, tears falling from her cheeks. As she remembered being hunted in the past. Charles looked at her. The two best friends actually were really old, practically immortal. She shook her head, "Go, plan. I'll stay with the Senator.", the five nodded and she was left alone with the Senator.

A few hours later he woke up, again. "Is someone there?", Juliet stepped forward and held his hand, "Always.", he softly smiled at the girl. "What do you think of us normal humans?", she softly smiled, "I think the normies are scared for the wrong reasons. None of us want to hurt anyone. Magneto, he was a jew in the holocaust. He's been at the hands of soldiers before. But he was treated differently and given to the hands of a very evil man who shaped him to be a weapon. When he tried to save the world, the world turned their weapons upon him and his mutant companions who had just risked their lives to save the humans. He did what he had to do to survive and lost close friends in the end.", she glanced down, "I've been at the hands of mad scientists before. When I was a child, my powers didn't physically manifest themselves. I was just a normal girl with some gifts. But then one day, I woke up and my powers glowed violet along with my eyes.", she swallowed and clenched her jaw, "I don't know who did that to me or who they worked for. I don't remember much of my past either.", she licked her lips and her eyes filled with tears, "I guess. Humans scare me because instead of trying to understand new things. They destory it. I'm scared for my life, Senator.", he looked at her, "Can you give me a dream?", she nodded and in his mind he saw a world filled with peace and unity. No wars, no discrimination, no anything. When it was over he looked at her, "I think you have one less person to be scared of, Miss Juliet.", he turned to water and she gasped before she ran upstairs. She found the others in the Professor's office and a tear fell down her cheek, "The Senator is dead.", Logan held her hand and she glanced down. Daylight was breaking through and the adults knew they needed to figure out Magneto's play.
