Chapter 11: Come Back

Storm stood by Juliet, Logan wasn't there. He was with Jean. If Juliet was awake, that wasn't the way to win her back. Storm held Juliet's hand and frowned, "We really need you Jules.", and she walked away. Moments later the electrical equipment downstairs glitched. Juliet's eyes moved under her eyelids. Logan was asking about Scott and Jean freaked out. Juliet's eyes snapped opened and they glowed. She stood up and moved down the corridor. She moved away from the door as Jean blew it away and she walked into the room, watching Jean move. She ran into the room and Logan was on the floor. Storm ran in and the Professor followed. His eyes landed on Juliet. "Where is she?", Storm helped Logan up, "I think she killed Scott.", Juliet glared, "I knew at the Lake. You're all naive. Of course she killed Scott. And now she's out where Magneto can weasel his why into her mind. Great.", her eyes glowed and Logan looked at her, "We need to find her.", Juliet looked at the Professor and he sighed. "I know where she is. Let's go. Juliet, I need you to babysit.", Juliet glared, "None of you can face Jean.", Logan looked at her, "You aren't in control.", Juliet glared, "At least I didn't kill the man I claim to have loved.", Charles sighed, "You being there could set her off. Your powers are level, if not above, her's. She could see you as a threat.", she rolled her eyes. "Fine, I'll babysit. If anyone dies. I'll leave and kill her myself.", her eyes shined and she walked away. Storm looked at them, "If something goes wrong, we will need her. You said it yourself. Magneto wants her. And with this cure, he'll have friends. We can't risks being short handed.", Charles and Logan looked at her and sighed. They knew both women were right but the Witch and the Phoenix together could level a small town.

Juliet climbed out of the backsest of the four-door car and stood with Storm and Logan as Charles went inside. Johnny and two other mutants stood outside. She tilted her head, "Raven isn't a mutant anymore. They weaponized the cure.", she blinked, "Get ready to fight. We need to get in there.", she levitated and her powers showed themselves. Logan and Storm looked at each other and the fight was on. Juliet went after the speedster. The two fought but Juliet got hit. She glared as the house levitated and she shot inside. The glass breaking. She threw the speedster, Johnny, and muscleman from the house and pulled the doors opened. Her eyes glowed bright and Magneto let out a breath. If anyone could stop Jean, it was Juliet. "Let him down, Jean. You've already killed Scott, don't kill the man who gave you a home.", Jean glared, "He controlled me!", Juliet clenched her jaw, "For good reason.", Juliet's powers hit Jean and the woman glared. Jean focused on Juliet but she kept healing. "You can't kill me, Jean.", Jean smirked, "Can't I?", Jean threw images into her brain of what happened between her and Logan in the labs. She gasped and closed her eyes. "Stop!", Jean smirked and tilted her head, "Stop it! Jean! This isn't you! Stop!", Logan heard Juliet's screams and his eyes watered, "Stop!", Magneto frowned and looked at Logan. "Please!", Juliet fell and Logan caught her before she flew out the windows and she went numb and limp. Charles was gone with a soft smile to Logan and he looked at Juliet. "Save her, Logan, before it's too late.", and the man exploded. The house fell and Juliet hit hard. Logan held her as Magneto and his group left with Jean. Storm looked at Juliet and then at the Professor's empty chair, "No.", and the two sobbed. Juliet woke with a gasp and her eyes glowed as tears fell, "No. No. No.", she scrambled away from the two and her eyes landed on Logan, "I hate you. This is your fault.", Logan frowned, "Juliet.", she stood up and Storm frowned, "Stop. We have to go back to the school. The kids need us, Jules. We can deal with this later.", Juliet scoffed and flew away.

Rogue looked at Juliet as she landed at the school and stormed in. Her eyes glowing and her face set. "Juliet, what happened?", Juliet closed her eyes, "Let Logan and Storm tell you.", and she retreated downstairs. Juliet sat in her room and played with her powers. She didn't attend the funeral and she didn't see Rogue off. Logan walked downstairs and to her room. He knocked and she opened the door. He watched her play with the blocks. "Jules.", she clenched her jaw, "Leave please.", her eyes locked onto him and they glowed. "Juliet, please.", she glared, "I said leave!", she screamed, "Marie left for the cure.", Juliet looked at him and he felt her in his brain, "Why didn't you stop her?", she stood up, "Because I'm not her father, and you aren't her mother.", Juliet sent him a look, "I'm the closest thing some of these kids get to a mother, Logan.", he looked at her, "Well you've not be acting like a very good one the last few years.", she threw the blocks at him and they exploded and entered his body. "Fuck you. Oh wait. I'm not Jean Grey. I'll never be Jean Grey. Go. I already see in your mind that you want to follow her so go.", he frowned, "She needs saved.", Juliet glared, "She needs stopped, Logan. Jean is gone. She killed Scott and Charles. Leave. I'm done with you.", the blocks flew back and Juliet put them back together. "They weaponized the cure, Logan. Let Magneto kill them.", he sent her a look, "This isn't you.", she looked at him, "I don't know who I am anymore.", she looked down and he placed a hand on her cheek, "You're Juliet Barnes, the Witch. My best friend and the love of my life. We have to get Jean back or they will use her to kill the humans. And I know you don't care about the humans but I know you care about the world. Juliet, my sweet little witch. I've made alot of mistakes recently. More than I've made in our entire 100 year history. And for that, I do apologize. But please, come back to me. I need you and I want you here with me. Come back.", tears dripped down her face and she looked at him, her powers not finding a single lie in his words. "Logan.", he smiled, "Little Witch.", she smiled, "Wolfie.", and they shared a kiss.
