Chapter 27: early bird

The boys had to wake up bright an early to get to school. Today they would have no school work because it was game day. So they would have to practice all day til 6:00pm when the game starts.
Since today was a special day, Leo stopped by everyone house and picked them up as they all took a bus to school.
Owen was only set on the game. He had to impress any scouts that were in the crowd. He would try to make things right with Zara later.

Leo needed his spotlight today, because he needed a scholarship to go into goods schools. His mom had been going through a financial crisis and couldn't afford tuition.

Marty wanted to prove to people that he isn't just the shortest guy on the team. He wanted to prove he was there for a reason, and just wanted some respect.

Zayn was the richest in the group. So wether they win of loose he would still getting into college next next year. He still was going to give it all he got. But he wanted to win just to win.

When they got to school coach had them doing crazy drills and exercises prepping them for the game.
And they had started a scrimmage.
They were doing ok but it wasn't enough.

"Coach looks pissed." Marty whispered to Zayn
"We aren't the problem though, it's clearly Owen. Hopefully he can take his head out of his ass for the game." Zayn replied as they both laughed.

Mean while Angel and Zara went off to school around 8:30.

"Are we watching the game." Angel asked
"I don't know... do you want to." Zara questioned as they were walking through the halls.
"Actually yes, Marty said I should come." She smiled
"Oh... so you and Marty huh?" Zara teased her
"He's pretty cool I guess." Angel smirked twiddling with her fingers.
"Well then yah we can go... for you." Zara smiled
She was happy Angel wanted to go because she was eager to see Owen after ghosting him all night and day.
She still cared about him. She misses him.

"Hey sorry to bother you my names Ryan do you guys know where English is?"
"It's fine I'm Zara I'm heading there now. I'll walk you." Zara smiled waving to Angel as she walked into her geography class.

"Are you new?" Zara asked
"Not really... I left and came back." She replied as they proceeded to walk to there class.

She had medium black hair wearing a red t shirt she tied in the back and black shorts she rolled up with with blue eyes.
"Why did you leave?"
"I was... exposed... you know like nudes... it was in grade ten by the grade twelves."
"Shit..." Zara gasped.

"Yea so I moved schools because it got into this huge thing, but I moved back because the last school I went to was ass."  She added
"Well welcome back." She smiled as they reached their class.

"Alright class today we will be doing a check in because I want to see how you all have been." Mrs Tuffin informed shifting the desks around to make a space for the students to sit in a circle.
"Row by row move your chairs to come sit in the space side by side." She instructed them and row by row they all filled the space with there chairs making a loud scratching noise on the floor.
The class filled with quiet chatter because she had never done this before.

"Okay!" She shouted to get the attention
"Why don't we start with you." She pointed to Ryan

"Uh ok..." Ryan uttered awkwardly staring at the ground
"Are you new?" Mrs Tuffin asked.

"No, not really." She paused as she was interrupted by the person whispering into someone else's ear.
And it turned into the whole room gossiping.. turns out Ryan's past didn't leave after all.

"Can everyone please be quiet." Mrs Tuffin demanded as the room got quiet
"Continue...?" She questioned signalling for a name
"Ryan... Ryan Gomez." And the room filled with chatter again.

"Everyone QUIET." She yelled
"Can you just skip me.. I don't feel like sharing." She muttered shyly
"Sure sweetie alright how about you Zara. How have you been."

"I've been swell. I like it here it's a nice school."
She thought by saying something nice to Mrs Tuffin she would leave her alone.

"That's nice... ok onto the rest."
And she was right.
She pointed to Sammy.
"I'm Sammy, and I am the new captain of the cheerleading squad and I will be cheering on the coyotes today!" She bragged in a prideful tone

Zara looked at Ryan as they were thinking the same thing and giggled together.
They cringed at her corny miss perfect line.
Zara remembered her from the party. The thing that made her laugh is how she tried to impress the class knowing that she's really Ashley Burners bitch.

"Girls please be respectful." Mrs Tuffin called them out as she chose the next person.
While Sammy looked at them giving a nasty side eye. And the girls became silent after.

A few hours later there class was over and the girls began to walk outside until they were stopped.
"Hey I noticed you were laughing in there... is there a problem." Sammy asked crossing her arms giving a fake smile
"Oh no we were laughing at something else don't worry." Zara lied
"Oh let me guess... at the fact that Miss Ryan Gomez was the school thot a year ago. Cuz I'll say, that's pretty funny." She hissed at them

"What the fuck did you say to me." Ryan threatened her as she tried to attack, but Zara held her back as Sammy walked away giggling.

"Don't try me BITCH we all know who are are!" Sammy yelled laughing down the halls
"Sammy! Watch your language." Mrs Tuffin yelled  over hearing her.

"Great first day huh." Ryan said storming off to the bathroom. Zara followed.

"She's a bitch." Zara rolled her eyes rushing into the bathroom. "probably because she's best friends with Ashley Burner." She added
"Huh, Ashley Burner.. I haven't seen her in a while." Ryan said pulling out a cigarette.
"You smoke." She asked Zara who shook her head and sat next to her.
"Ashley was actually the girl that exposed me." She mentioned blowing out the smoke.
" of course she did." Zara replied rolling her eyes
"Does she still go here?" Ryan asked giving a light tap to her cigarette.

"No. Not anymore she goes to the enemy school and I think she's dating some guy named Kyle."
"What about Sammy does she have a boyfriend?"
"Yea he's playing tonight, you should come it'll be fun." Zara exclaimed snatching the cigarette and tossing it in the toilet. She hated the smell.
"I think I will.." she grinned as they walked out
