They ran down the street  screaming at the top of their lungs, out of joy that they had gotten away. Still being buzzed from the drinks. Owen grabbed both of Zara's hands and spun her around in a circle in the middle of the road.
She was having so much fun with him. He spun her until they both fell on the ground.

"Are you ok?!" Owen got up quick to check on her
"Yea... yea I am." Zara giggled getting up laughing checking her body to look for any bruises.
She look at him in his eyes after and wrapped her arms around his neck and he wrapped his hands around her back. Causing them to hug.
"Thank you." She said has her head leaned on his shoulder
"For what?" He asked as his head leaned on hers
"For being fucking awesome." She said hugging him tighter.

"Your welcome." He said picking her up from the hug.
"Shit where's my bike?!" He said interrupting the hug. They looked around in the middle of the road and couldn't see it.
" My moms gonna kill me." He said running his hands through his dark brown hair.

"Maybe it's at my place I'll bring it to you tomorrow." She spoke sincerely.
"Nah it's all good I'll walk you home and bike from there." He insisted
"Owen it's getting late-"
"Don't worry my moms asleep. It's fine." He smiled and in response Zara nodded.

They were almost five minutes in when a burning question of Zara's wanted to pop out.
"Why did you break up with Ashley. If you don't mind me asking?"
He took a deep breath pausing the walk in the middle of the road.
"I broke up with her because that was the time Terry died and I didn't have time to deal with all her extra shit. We were really toxic and weren't fit for each other."

Zara felt bad because she kept reminding him of Terry. So she changed the subject
"Well I'm probably gonna get jumped tomorrow so."
She chuckled as they both continued to walk
"I wouldn't let her touch you. I wouldn't let anyone touch you." He assured her
She looked away with trying to contain her big smile.

"Why did you move to New York?"
"My dad always wanted to build a shop of his own."
"Well I hope he's not as dumb as the last guy."
"The dummy is actually my dad." She giggled watching Owens face turn red.

"Oh shit- I uh- you know. I didn't know sorry." He said stuttering on his words of embarrassment
"It's fine! Trust me I would have thought he was stupid too. But we had an arrangement earlier which allowed me to come and 'steal' those things."

"Wait. So he knew you were going to steal them."
"Yea I had to get in and out though because I didn't want him to know I was skipping."
"Holy shit... Holy shit?!" He laughed "why couldn't you just buy the stuff in the store normally?"
She waited a bit before she responded.
"Because I liked the rush, the feeling of wind blowing through your hair laughing and giggles, even though I knew we weren't going to get busted you guys made it ten times more fun. And you all looked so happy I didn't want to ruin it by telling you."

In that moment Owen feelings increased for her. He thought that she was different and that she was fun and could bring him back to life from what happened so long ago. He realized he didn't ever want to loose her. Ever. And if he did, he would be way more scared then he was with Terry.
He smiled and shook his head as he hooked his arm around her shoulders giving her a playful head lock.
He knew that even if they couldn't date right now. That they could be best friends.
