A couple hours past and we were back at the camp. It was now 5:40pm the dance was soon going to start. We managed to get our nails done and had out on our dresses waiting for them to call us down.

My heart was slowly starting to beat faster and faster as the clock came closer to 6:00. What if I slip or fall. It would be terrible and embarrassing.
However we looked gorgeous in our dresses.. I was by the vanity figuring out what to do with my hair. It was in a middle part and it wasn't as good as I thought it was.

I was starting to panic I didn't know what to do.
I moved my hands around it fidgeting with what would make it better but nothing I did made it better

"Zara calm down." Angel said from the other side of the room. She looked perfect better then me I guess and I was so straight on making everything perfect for myself I started to second guess everything

"My hair.. I don't like it." I said with frustration wanting to rip my hair out. I tried to keep calm but it didn't work. "Okay okay I'll help just don't go crazy." She chuckled walking up to me.
"Like of course it's not going to match. Your dress is body con not puffy." She informed me pulling my hair back.

"If you wear body cons dresses the hair has to match... so just tuck your like this." She stated pulling my hair behind my ears sealing it with a gold Bobby pin.
"And then make it flare at the end.. if that makes sense." She implied grabbing the curling iron and curling the ends of my hair leaving the rest slick and straight.

"What matches the bottom must match the top." She smiled proudly finishing my hair.
It actually looked really good. Like better then I expected I looked so formal and fancy. Like I was a modern princess.
"Thank you Angel.." I cheered hugging her instantly

"No problem." She hugged me back and tight.
"How did you know what to do." I asked unhanding her.
"My mom used you be obsessed with that stuff growing up and she passed it onto me I guess." She shrugged her shoulders with a soft smile.
"I literally almost went crazy thank you." I said hugging her once more.

I unhanded her again this time handing her the mask that she picked out and we both put them on.
Ryan soon joined us and put her mask on as well. Thanks to Angel I felt ten times more confident than I had before.

I was so ready now. I was still buy the vanity when I forgot I had no jewelry so I put three rings on index finger middle finger and thumb.
I had and put in dangly earrings my dad gave me for my 16th birthday. Made me think of him. Made me miss him again.

"Guys.... it's time." Ryan chirped silently interrupting my thoughts. I felt I pit in my stomach to her words my hearts started pumping out of my chest and I started sweating.
"You just had to say that." Angel uttered placing her hand on her heart.
I ran to the closet grabbing a loose towel to pat the sweaty parts dry.

I swear a lot when I'm this nervous.
"Should we wait for them to call us or do we go." I muttered patting the towel on myself
"I'll take a peak." Ryan suggested rushing to the door.

"Well??" I asked waiting for her to respond. She turned over and shushed me. I think she was talking to someone.
Then music started playing in halls. It was loud which startled me. At least it was a good song though.

"Let's go." Ryan said with a soft smile. I took a deep breath walking out of the room.
The halls were fancy and luxurious like a castle ball. There were peddle buckets on a table in front of the room.
We walked through the hall just admiring the place almost forgetting about the whole dance itself.
Finally reaching the stairs.

There were girls line up as Jeffry called their partners to come get them. If they didn't have one you would be paired with a random guy/girl for inclusivity.
One by one the girls walked beautifully down the stairs.
"Mitchel Reign with Ryan Gomez." Jeffry called out making my heart skip a beat because Angel was next meaning I was next after her.

I watched as she walked down the stairs meeting Mitchels hand and they link arms and walked into the the big ball room.
"Angel Douglas with Cole Anderson." Jeffry announced. Angel walked down the grand stairs linking with Cole. Almost like a princess meeting her prince.

I was next. I hadn't seen Owen in the crowd yet. He must have been in the back.
"Zara Douglass with Owen Cimmel."
My heart almost bursted through my chest after he finished his statement. Soon after I saw Owen appear from the crowd.

His eyes lit up looking at me. I'm guessing that's a good thing but seeing him made me even more nervous. He looked super sexy in his black and red suit and his hair looked good pushed back. Better then I thought actually.

I strolled down the grand stairs as our hands met.
"You look breath taking." He whispered to me making me blush. Jeffry was giving us odd stares so I couldn't say anything back without him hearing.

We walked into the ball and the music was still calm and slow. I looked around to see everyone was slow dancing. So I placed my hands on his shoulders and in response he placed his hands on my waist.

I looked up at him watching him smile at me. It was like I was safe and secure with him. Like nothing bad could ever happen to me. "Your hair looks sexy slicked back, and this suit...." I whispered to him in his ear.
"Me?? Look at you." He exclaimed quietly looking me up and down.
"You are the prettiest girl in this entire school I don't care what anyone else says." He added making me look away being unable to contain my smile.

"Shut up I'm not." I teased watching him shake his head at my answer.
"How did I get so lucky?" I added tilting my head at my question.
"I don't know. How did I?" He answered glazing into my eyes.
I leaned my head onto his shoulders swaying to the slow song.

"This is forever right." I asked still leaning on him
"Yea."
"Promise me." I spoke removing my head from his shoulder to look at him.
"I promise." He looked at me. Making me smile.

"Don't ever leave me ever." I went on going back to leaning on him
"I wouldn't even if you want me to." He chuckled making me giggle.

My heart beating slowed down feeling his warmth warm my body. His kiss the top of my head running butterflies down my stomach.
"I love you Z." He whispered to me
"I love you too Owen."
