We were surrounded in a circle, this was the kind of dance where you would switch partners with everyone every few minutes. I started off with Owen.

"Listen Zara, you know I love you right?" He spoke in a serious tone, making me want to laugh. I don't know, must have been the drinks but why so lovey dovey all of a sudden.
"Yea." I giggled being unable to hold it in.
"I promise I'll do everything to protect you. Just wanted you to know that." He smiled pulling me closer by my waist.

"Me too." I uttered in confusion
"And that locket.." he voiced
"What about it.?" I asked

"Never take it off." He spoke in a serious tone once again.
"I know." I nodded.

In seconds he twirled me over to my next dance partner.
It was Leo.
"Hey you." He winked as we swayed to the music.
"Hi." I sounded off after Owen and I's conversation still keeping my eyes on him as his new dance partner was Angel.
"What's wrong.?" Leo asked removing my attention from Owen.

"Nothing, just thinking.. but anyways. How are you.?" I asked changing the subject.
"Okay, my moms was just given some new meds. And it's a hassle but she ends up taking them." He mentioned.

Leo's mom is bipolar.

"That's good, I miss her. Tell her I said hi." I smiled slightly.
"Yea of course, she misses you too." He uttered gazing into my eyes, causing me to look away.
"You know I met your girlfriend at the mall the other day, she gave me dirty looks. I didn't know you were into the feisty types." I winked changing the subject once more.

"She isn't my girlfriend, I haven't spoke to her since the after party. When she called you a bitch." He chuckled.
"What?! Leo I said I didn't care, I mean there just words." I laughed slightly.
"Yea but I do, and that wasn't cool." I rolled his eyes.

"Oh well, my cousin Noelle thinks your cute, you should give her a shot." I raised my eyebrows with a smile on my lips.
"I'm okay, with being single right now. Just waiting I guess." He smiled

"Waiting for the right one huh." I mentioned now shifting my eyes to Owen again.
"Uh huh." He nodded

And once again I was twirled to my next partner, which was Ryan.
"Girl what is going on with you and Leo?" She asked aggressively.
"What do you mean..." I questioned in disbelief
"He's practically drooling over you, and you guys dancing just makes it look so weird." Ryan complained.

"I'm not focused on him to realize the way he looks at me. I more focussed on Owen-" I looked around to see him leave the setting.
"Where is he going.?" I added
"Maybe he's upset." Ryan shrugged
"I don't know...I'll be right back." I voiced simply letting go of Ryan's hand as I ran towards Owens direction taking his phone with him.

In a quick thought I knew he was heading to the parking lot, where most of the cars were parked, I'm not sure why but he was.
Before I could reach the entrance to the parking lot my phone began to ring catching my attention. That's weird, it was an unknown number, in most cases I don't pick up random peoples numbers but for some odd reason I decided today was not going to be one of those days.

"Hello." I muttered into the phone. It was silent for a bit. The only thing I could hear was breathing, slow pasted breathing. Making me distracted I decided to put a pause on finding Owen. And then they hung up, who ever they were.

Weird ass. I don't have time for this fuck shit. It's literally dark outside. Won't be surprised if I get kidnapped.

Anyways.

Stepped onto the parking lot grounds to look for Owen once more.
I was worried about him, especially now after that sketchy call. I began my search around all the cars in the parking lot in hope to see his moms car. Maybe that's where he went, to his moms car. So I had to find it. The only problem was I have no idea what it looks like.

"Owen!" I yelled as my breath thickened to the worry in my heart for him.
I finally reached a car, but instead of seeing Owen I saw broken glass shattered everywhere.
And in that instant I picked one of the pieces up just in case anything bad happened to him.
"Owen!" I yelled louder passing by cars and cars, until finally I saw him, far in the distance.

My heart was relieved seeing him alive. I began to walk up to him until the sight of a man with a gun appeared behind him. I instantly hid behind a car to the sight of him pointing the gun at Owens head.
He was in a black hoodie and black pants.

I peaked to the side of the car and watched him get closer and closer. And I got furious, he was trying to take him away. Trying to fucking kill. I moved away from the car storming up to the man with the glass still being in my hand and wasted no time and stabbed him in the neck.

The shot my fired.
But it missed completely.

Owen turned quickly to the sound startled at my auctions.
"Owen." I shivered, "he was trying to kill you, this man was going to kill you." I stated clearly as I watched his facial expression turn to shock.
"Holy shit Zara." He gasped looking at the man struggle to breath on the ground.

"I'm sorry, but he was going to kill you." I hugged my body, watching the man as gushing noises came from his mouth while he kept his hand on his neck.
We were both frozen, just staring at him.

"Owen.. say something." I demanded as my voice got squishy. I just killed someone.
Owen eyes shifted to me, with a look of sadness and disappointment, a look I've seen before.

And It wasn't a good thing.

That's when I began to break down.
"I'm sorry." I cried dropping the glass onto the floor.

"No no Z don't cry it's okay." He hugged me instantly.
"You look so upset. I killed someone Owen." I cried into his arms.
"You saved my life Zara, forget about how I reacted. You fucking saved my life." He held me by the shoulders looking into my eyes.

"He was a criminal, a murder. And you stopped him." He assured me. "Okay.?" He added in question
I nodded in response, feeling a bit better by his words.
"Everything will be fine, do you have my phone with you.?" He asked in a clear tone.
"Yea." I answered handing it too him.

He took it and began typing, I didn't bother asking because some how I trusted him. And knew everything was going to be okay.
Seconds after he dragged the body to the the side throwing it over the fence.
"Owen what are you doing." I questioned aggressively.

"Trust me. I have it all under control. Now let's go." He grabbed my hand looking into my eyes once more. And I nodded trusting him.

"I love you." I uttered
"I love you, I always will. Don't forget that." He cupped my face planting a kiss on my forehead.
Just as we were about to leave I heard my phone ring again. My eyes shifted to Owen in some reassurance.
"Unknown." I blurted quietly.
"Answer it." He uttered.
And I did putting it on speaker this time.

"Hello..."

"Ah yes, Zara Douglas. Long time no see." A familiar voice appeared in the phone. The voice of a man I thought was gone for good. But instead. I was wrong.

"Aaron." I breathed as my heart skipped a beat.
