A/N: hello! At the start of this fanfic they are in highschool... just so you know

Y/N's POV

"Pleeaaase?" I whine.

He groans loudly. "Ugggggh do I have to?"

"No, but I really want you to...." I say sweetly, doing the best 'puppy dog eyes' I could muster.

After four years of fanning over them, One Direction was finally performing in my city, and this was my chance to go see them. I didn't want to go alone, so of course I'm begging my boyfriend to come with me.

"But—"

"If you came to this concert with me it would be the best gift ever and it would be my Valentine's day present for the next 7 bajillion years," I beg with a pout.

"But Y/N—"

"And plus, if I go alone then I might fall hopelessly in love with all 5 of them and you won't have a chance. But if you came with me, you'd be there to stop that from happening," I say, cutting him off again before he could finish his protest.

Shawn shakes his head at my stupid reasoning, and presses his lips together trying to suppress a smile.

"Okay... only for you," he tells me with a sigh, giving in to my pleas.

"Yes!!" I exclaim and he smiles genuinely. I wrap my arms around him tightly. "Thank you!" He hugs me back, giving me a kiss on the forehead.

The day of the concert, he shows up at my house with a bouquet of roses and some sort of clothing item, which was folded up in his arms.

I smile at the sight, and he unfolds it to show me that it was a new One Direction hoodie I didn't have. No wonder he wanted to see my merch collection a few weeks ago.

He holds it out in front of me with a wide grin on his face.

"Happy Valentine's Day," he says as he approaches me, handing me the hoodie and roses.

"What? Shawn I told you this concert is my present. For this Valentine's day and the next 7 bajillion," I protest.

"C'mon you can't expect me to not get you anything. And that's not even a number."

"Yes I can, and I did. Sorry, can't accept it, we made a deal," I tell him stubbornly.

"Well to be fair, you made the deal. But would you accept it if it was a non-Valentine's day gift that I got you just because I want to spoil my girlfriend?"

I smile creeps up on my face. "Okay I suppose I could accept something like that." I take the hoodie from him and he pulls me in for a hug, first kissing me sweetly on the lips.

"Thank you," I whisper into his neck.

14 years later...

"Daddy?" Skylar says, climbing onto the kitchen stool.

"Yes hun?" Shawn looks at her, tearing his attention away from his phone. He looks at his 6-year old daughter, as she eyes me suspiciously.

"What did you get Mommy for Valentine's day?" she whispers into his ear, trying to be secretive but still speaking loud enough that I could hear.

I smile, looking at the two of them.

"Well I couldn't tell you while she's right in the room," he tells her with a chuckle, stroking her hair gently. "But it's okay because I didn't get her anything."

"What, why?? Bad Daddy!" she exclaims in surprise.

"Well it's not my fault she won't accept Valentine's day gifts from me!" he protests with a laugh.

She looks at him in confusion, while we share a knowing smile.

"Are you gonna not give her a gift on Valentine's day forever?"

"No, not forever..." he says to our daughter, with a smile on his face. "Just for the next 7 bajillion years."
