Y/N's POV

My feet hit against the hard wooden stairs as I run upstairs to Shawn and I's shared bedroom, slamming the door in frustration. I fall backwards onto our plush mattress, angry tears streaming down my face.

People had told us being newlyweds would be difficult, and we were still figuring things out. I think about our argument earlier; it was our first one since we got married two months ago.

It was just a stupid fight. We were both worked up about other things and took it out on each other. We each said some things in the moment that we shouldn't have.

Once I've calmed down, I wipe my tear-stained cheeks, and take a deep breath. Slowly, I open the bedroom door.

I walk downstairs and see Shawn sitting in the living room, running his fingers through his long, curly hair.

His eyes were red probably from frustration, and he looked as if he had also been crying. He was on the sofa and his leg was bouncing up and down, something he usually does when he's anxious or upset.

"Shawn?" I say quietly.

He notices that I'm there and immediately stands up.

"Baby I'm sorry. You were right and I shouldn't have said those things," he says, coming to embrace me.

I wrap my arms around him and he holds me tight. "We both said some things and let's just forget it. I love you Shawn."

He smiles and places a long kiss on my forehead.

Shawn leads me over to the couch and sits me down. "I wanted to show you something.... I think we both forgot we made it and I figured we should open it together."

He pulls out a small wooden box and instantly, memories come flooding back.

A few weeks after he proposed to me, we made this wooden box and filled it with love letters to each other, along with some wine and pictures of us together.

We nailed it shut and then painted a heart on it that said Shawn + Y/N on it. The idea was that we would open it only after our first fight after we got married, to remind us of how much we love each other. (Cheesy, I know)

We pry open the box, revealing all the romantic 'coupley' stuff we put inside almost a year ago. Shawn hands me the letter he wrote for me, and then takes out his. He looks at me and smiles, and then we both open our letters.

As I read his letter, I can't help but cry. He told me that he loved me and that he was sorry for whatever we were fighting about. He said he couldn't wait to marry me and felt like the luckiest guy in the world.

"I don't know what my stupid self decided to argue with you about but whatever it was, I'm sorry. Please forgive me :) I'm writing this letter as you are sleeping peacefully in our bedroom. You look so beautiful Y/N, I don't think I tell you that enough."

I finish the letter and then look over at him. He's smiling while reading and it's the cutest thing in the world.

I remember writing that I loved just listening to his gorgeous voice fill the room, and that I loved it when he would make me homemade meals because he wanted it to be more personal.

I also said I loved that whenever he came home late from work, he would quietly sneak into our bedroom thinking I was asleep, then place a kiss on my cheek and whisper 'i love you'.

After a moment, he turns to me. "You were never asleep?"

I shake my head. "I waited for you to come home each night so I wouldn't miss your goodnight kisses. 'Cause when you're away from home I don't get to have them."

His mouth turns into a heart-melting smile. Shawn leans forward and presses a kiss to the corner of my lips.

"You can have my kisses whenever you want baby," he whispers.
