3rd person POV

"Where is she?!" the brown-haired girl exclaimed.

"I don't know and she's not picking up her phone!"

The three ladies stood in the center of the room, all dressed in similar bridesmaids dresses. It was the day of their best friend's wedding, but there was only one problem; their bride was missing.

"Well what are we supposed to do now?"

"I- I guess we gotta go look for her!"

"Do we tell the groom she's missing?"

"You want to tell the groom that his fiancee is missing on the day of their wedding? Are you insane!?"

"I don't know let's just go!"

They frantically split off into each of their cars and take off to look for her. Fifteen minutes later, one of their cars pulls up to the front door of the bride's close friend, Shawn.

In hopes that he would know where she was, the maid of honor desperately rings the doorbell repeatedly.

Shawn, who was busy getting ready for the wedding himself, answers the door. He was dressed in a crisp white dress shirt and black pants, his black tie hung loosely around his neck.

"Y/F/N? What are you doing here?" he asks, confused.

"Have you seen Y/N? We can't find her!"

"What do you mean you can't find her? Isn't she supposed to be getting ready? You know, for her wedding in a few hours?" He moves his arms, making the obvious point.

"She ran off and she's not answering her phone."

"She's not here but I'll help you look."

As her car pulls out of his driveway, Shawn quickly makes his way to his own black Jeep, turning on the ignition and heading out to search for his best friend.

"C'mon Y/N where have you gone?" he mutters to himself.

The ceremony was approaching and they still hadn't found her. She was quite literally a runaway bride.

Shawn had gone to every place in town he could think of so if she wasn't here, he didn't know where he could possibly look for her.

As he steps out of the jeep, surely enough, he sees her car parked on the side of the dirt road.

He takes a few steps forward, looking around as he stood in the meadow they used to go to when they were kids.

It was their spot where they would run around and lay down in the grass, talking about anything and everything. It was their escape.

Off at the very end of the field, he could see her figure sitting in the window of the old stone wall with her feet placed on top and her back resting against the side.

Shawn breathes a sigh of relief, watching as she looks out into the distance not noticing that he was there.

As he approached her, he could see her more clearly. Her flowing brown hair was perfectly done with small white flowers delicately tucked in, and she was wearing a white silk sort of dressing/night gown.

Cupping his hands around his mouth, he shouts her name. "Y/N!"

Her head immediately turns in his direction as she sits up, alert. Looking across the large field of grass, she sees her best friend running towards her.

"Shawn? What are you doing here?" she asks as he reaches her spot.

"What do you mean what am I doing here? What are you doing here!?" he exclaims, exasperated.

She sighs, resting her back against the side again. "I don't know."

He frowns, taking a seat across from her so that he was facing her. "You're not having second thoughts are you?"

"No... I- maybe. I'm not sure what I'm doing, I just... panicked and then next thing you know I was in my car driving off to here."

"So... what are you gonna do?"

She bites her lip, looking down, and then looks back up at him. "I'm not sure. I'm being dramatic aren't I? I'm supposed to be getting ready to get married, and my fiance is gonna be waiting for me at the altar in a few hours... I have to go marry him right?"

He clears his throat as she looks at him, searching for an answer. "Uhm..."

"Shawn?"

He looks at her, his expression completely unreadable as he contemplates what to tell her.

"C'mon please just talk me into this. Tell me I'm being stupid and that these are just nerves and that I should go marry him," she pleads.

Shawn stares down at his lap. "The thing is I don't know if you should," he says quietly.

"W-what?" She looks at him anxiously.

"Will he make you truly happy?" he asks, looking into her eyes.

He hesitates for a moment before continuing. "If he will, then you should go marry him. But if he won't, and these aren't just nerves, then I can't let you marry someone who won't make you as happy as.... as I could."

"Shawn what are you saying?" she asks, her eyes brimming with tears.

"I love you Y/N. I've loved you for so long, since before he was even in the picture. But then you started dating him and it was just too late."

"But why didn't you say anything sooner? Why didn't you just tell me how you felt?"

"I was scared. I was terrified of destroying what we already had, of being rejected, of losing you. And then well after that, you had a boyfriend. Even then I thought about it, but I couldn't do that to you. I didn't want to ruin your happiness."

"So you would have let me marry someone else even if you loved me?" A tear slips down her cheek as they sit alone in the quiet meadow.

"I thought that seeing you marry someone else would get rid of my feelings for you." He chokes on his words. "It would've hurt like hell seeing you walk down the aisle but... I thought, and I hoped, that eventually it would fade, because your heart would belong to someone else."

She leans forwards and kisses him. Caught off guard, Shawn is surprised, but kisses her back.

It might be totally wrong, and she might have just ruined everything, but in her entire disaster of a wedding day, this was the one thing she was sure about, the one thing that felt completely right.

A/N: I don't feel like writing a part 2 so that's it and basically what happens is the wedding gets called off and her fiance gets really pissed but she and Shawn live happily ever after the end. <3
