Y/N's POV

I open the door to the apartment, feeling a sense of relief after a long day. I put all my things down, and then change into my pyjamas.

I sit down on my bed, exhausted. Picking up my phone, I send a text to my boyfriend to let him know that I'm home. Regardless of the fact that he's halfway across the world, he still wants to know.

Just got home. Now a good time to call?

He responds within a few seconds, meaning that he had already been scrolling through his phone.

Yes! Need to see your face, I miss you 🥺💗

I smile at his text, and then click on FaceTime. His face appears on the screen and he's grinning widely.

"Hi baby," he says, still smiling.

"Hey Shawn, what are you up to?"

"Chilling in the hotel before my interview later. How about you? You sound tired, hon."

"Yeah, long day today. But it's better now that I'm talking to you."

"Our FaceTimes are always the best part of my day. Are you sure you don't want to sleep though?"

"No, I'm okay. Gotta hear your voice... seems like it's been forever. I miss you."

"I miss you too, love. Do you want me to sing for you?"

"Ooh yes please!"

He laughs. "Okay, what song?"

I think for a moment. "Never be alone."

"Aw, just the song for us right now... I miss you so much my heart aches. Okay here we go. Time to serenade my girl."

Shawn grabs his guitar and begins to run his fingers over the strings.

He starts singing the tune to Never be Alone and I smile tiredly. He then furrows his eyebrows as he strums the guitar and I could tell by the look on his face that he was trying to remember the lyrics.

"What are the first lyrics to Never be Alone?" he asks after a moment. I giggle and he smiles, shaking his head. "Hang on, hang on, I got it."

I laugh again as he quickly types into his computer, and I knew he was googling the lyrics... his own lyrics.

"I promise that one day I'll be around, I'll keep you safe, I'll keep you sound," he sings.

I prop my elbow up on my pillow and rest my chin on my hand, enjoying the sound of his melodic voice.

"Take a piece of my heart, and make it all your own, so when we are apart, you'll never be alone."

He messes up a few times and I giggle at his cuteness (he also ended up getting distracted by a guitar chord at the end lolll).

He hasn't played this song in a while but it's one of my favourites... great song to play when you're apart from someone and missing them.
