"How do you, how do you just walk away?"

~ Where were you in the morning

Shawn's POV

For the next few days, she was the only thing on my mind.

I've had my fair share of one night stands, and each time, I had always hoped that they would be gone in the morning. It was always so awkward afterwards.

This time was different. The one time I wished the girl would stay, she disappears before I even wake up.

There was something different about her. Even though we were both intoxicated, I felt something that night. And I thought she did too.

After three whole days of non-stop thinking about her with my head up in the clouds, I push these thoughts to the back of my mind and decide to get on with my life.

Sigh, I wish it was that easy. Her necklace, which I kept tucked safely in my jacket pocket these last few days, felt heavy. A constant reminder of her, my mystery girl.

Y/N's POV (about an hour after leaving Shawn's place)

I collapse onto my bed, having finally arrived back at my own place. I sigh, feeling relieved. Out of habit, my fingers move to touch the pendant that was resting in between my collarbones. At least it should've been...

Realization dawns on me and my heart drops straight into my stomach. No no not my necklace, please not my necklace.

The next hour is spent looking through my purse, my jewellery box, anywhere that it could possibly be. Nothing.

I'm positive I had it on me last night, which means... it has to be at his place.

I sit on the edge of my bed with my elbows resting on my knees. What was I supposed to do now? I had to get my necklace back, it was really important to me. But I really didn't want to have to see him again...

(Four days later)

I step out of the cab, to face the exact building I ran from just a few nights ago. Did I have a plan? Kinda. Did it involve talking to him? Absolutely not.

I walk into the building, hoping to encounter a lazy receptionist who doesn't really care, or a gullible one who will fall for a fake sob story.

"Hi there uhm I was hoping to be let in to the penthouse upstairs... I erm forgot my key and can't get in," I say to the older man standing behind the counter.

It's obvious he doesn't believe me, as he rolls his eyes and looks at me, clearly annoyed.

"Look Miss, I don't know what you're trying to do here, but I know you don't live in this building so please leave."

I sigh. I don't even know what I was expecting to happen from that.

"Okay okay I'm sorry. I was here a few days ago, and I forgot something really personal to me, so I was hoping you could just let me go get it..."

"Young lady I'm going to have to ask you to leave."

I nod, repressing another sigh.

He probably thinks I'm some fangirl. To be honest, I would've thought the same. I mean, a young girl trying to get into a celebrity's apartment with a stupid obviously made up excuse; he's probably seen that one before.

"Sorry for bothering you sir," I say to him, turning around and beginning to walk towards the doors.

"Wait!"

I hear a different voice from behind me. I turn around and... oh no. I see the one person I didn't want to encounter. He was walking hurriedly towards me, having just stepped out of the elevator. He stops just a few meters away from me.

There's a brief moment of silence before he speaks. "It's you..." he says quietly, obviously surprised to see me.

I nod, looking down awkwardly. I could feel his burning gaze on me.

"You uhh... you disappeared that morning. I woke up and you were gone."

"Yeah, I figured... I figured it would be less awkward for the both of us if I just left." I look back up at him, his eyes meeting mine. Damn he had pretty eyes.

"You didn't feel anything that night?"

"I mean it was just a one night stand... we were both drunk," I try to explain. He nods, looking a little hurt.

"So um, why did you come back?"

"Oh uhh, my necklace, I think I dropped it somewhere in your apartment and it's important to me so I needed to get it back-"

"You mean this?" He pulls out the silver chain from his jacket pocket and I feel a rush of relief.

"Yes oh my god thank you."

"Now, I could use this to blackmail you into going on a date with me..." He chuckles as my face falls. Was he seriously going to—

"But I'm not like that so here you go."

He hands it to me and I look at the small pendant in the palm of my hand. Then I look back at him with a small smile.

"Thank you truly, you don't know how much this means to me," I say gratefully.

He smiles. "Ofcourse!"

He purses his lips together for a moment. "Well um if that's all you came for, then I guess you'll be going now..." he says, a hint of disappointment in his voice.

Another brief pause occurs between the two of us, before I interrupt the silence.

"Or... we could go grab lunch if you're up for that?" I feel a warm blush creeping onto my cheeks.

His mouth widens into a grin, revealing his pearly white teeth. "Absolutely, I'd love to."

I smile back at him and nod.

Before we go, I pick up the ends of the silver chain to try and put my precious necklace back on my neck where it belongs.

"Here let me help you with that," he offers, coming closer to me.

I hand it to him and lift up my hair as he delicately places it around my neck, attaching the clasp. His fingers gently brush against my shoulders.

As I let go of my hair, his touch leaves a tingling feeling against my skin, making me blush once more.

Maybe I did feel something that night...

A/N: I know, I know, bad ending. I never know how to end these but anyways what I had in mind is Shawn has feelings for her, they go out for lunch, she decides she likes him, and then yeah
