Y/N's POV

The all too familiar sound of a baby screaming at the top of her lungs wakes me up, and I groan. She's got her father's voice that's for sure. How could a tiny baby make so much noise?

Looking at the clock, I see that I had gotten three uninterrupted hours of sleep, which was more than usual. We haven't started sleep training her yet.

I'm about to crawl out of bed to go get her, but Shawn stops me. "Go back to sleep, I'll get her," he whispers hoarsely from next to me.

He kisses me softly on the cheek and I lay back down as he gets out of bed and walks to the nursery.

The cries go away as he calms her down in the other room and my heavy eyelids close.

Another hour later, I wake up once again, but not to the sound of crying. I turn to my left and see that the other side of the bed was empty. Shawn hadn't returned... weird.

It was still very early in the morning and the sun wasn't even up, so I walk to the nursery to see if he was there. I stand at the door and lean against the frame, smiling at the sight.

Shawn was fast asleep on the rocking chair, with baby Skylar in his arms. Her head was rested on his chest and she too, was asleep. He was holding her protectively and must've fallen asleep while rocking her.

I admire them for a little while, seeing how much she looked like Shawn. Her nose and lips were all his, and her eyes too but they were closed right now. The small amount of hair that she had however was like mine.

I walk over to the two of them, gently nudging Shawn to wake him up. He opens his eyes and sees me, then looks around the room and realizes where he was. Shawn smiles when he sees Skye asleep in his arms.

He stands up and walks over to her crib, careful not to wake her up. He slowly gives her a kiss on the forehead, then lays her down and tucks her in.

I smile tiredly as he comes back over to where I was, wrapping his arms around me. He places a long kiss on my temple.

"Let's go back to bed," I whisper.

He nods, taking my hand. I look back at the crib where our daughter was sleeping peacefully, before walking back to bed.

We got two more hours of sleep this time before the devil awakened and the house was filled with screams all over again. Oh the joys of parenthood.
