Chapter 01 // Senselessness and Reason // Class Trial

Thank you for waiting so patiently! I hope this lives up to expectations!

I've proofread it very carefully, but I really want to get this out. If you spot any mistakes, please point them out!

Monokuma: Let's begin with a basic explanation of the class trial!

Monokuma: During the trial, you'll be asked to present arguments and evidence, and at the end you'll vote for "whodunnit".

Monokuma: If you vote correctly, only the blackened will be punished, but if you pick the wrong person...

Monokuma: I'll punish everyone besides the blackened, and the one who decieved everyone will be allowed to leave!

Monokuma: So, let's start! It's been such a long time...

Fuyuko Shirota: Before we begin...I have a question about the trial.

Fuyuko Shirota: If we come to a standstill at any point, where we're stuck between two people, what happens?

Monokuma: Interesting question! If there's a tie in the vote, as long as the culprit is one of the people voted for, it's fine.

Brittany Miller-Brown: Um...couldn't we just all vote for ourselves, then the killer would be found automatically?

Monokuma: Ah! Good point! Okay, new rule, specifically hijacking the voting progress to gain an unfair advantage is not permitted! Trials must be fair! Anyways, Fuyuko, why did you ask? A tie is unlikely, cause there's an odd number of you.

Fuyuko Shirota: ...doesn't matter.

Hidemi Matsumoto: Hey, Shirota, care to explain exactly what your relationship is with Monokuma? You always have such on-point observations about the killing game...

Monokuma: Let's just say that some people remember some things that happened in the past, and we'll leave it at that!

Monokuma: And that SOME people keep butting their heads in where they don't-

Monokuma: *Deep breath* never mind. Begin the trial!

Akari Aokichi: KYA!!! HIYA!!!! WAPAPAPAPA!!!

Akimitsu Egawa: Do I really have to stand next to her?

Hidemi Matsumoto: Yeah...she's freaky.

Kanesuki Kuzuharu: IT'S OTOHA!!! IT IS!!

Kanesuki Kuzuharu: Look at her! What a freak!

Otoha Aoyama: Why do you hate me? I'm not offended...just confused.

Shin Akada: I hate this whole layout. There's no recognisable pattern to work with.

Shin Akada: Hmm...

Brittany Miller-Brown: Yeah, this whole thing's stupid. We should probably try though, right? Like...somehow.

Fuyuko Shirota: Hey, maybe you guys should start by discussing something simple.
