"Wow, why are you so good at this."
"My talent."
"Oh okay."

Soomin couldn't help but chuckle lightly as she felt the light tugs to her hair. Behind her on the couch sat Yuta, super concentrated on crossing her hair into two adorable braids. He had offered, and there was no way Soomin would miss out on something like this.

Shotaro sat nearby, looking at the two in awe with glimmering eyes. "Yuta, could you do my hair after?"

"No."

"Why not? You're doing it for her." Shotaro whined audibly.

"Because you don't have long hair, idiot. Braids are the only hairstyle I can make." Yuta growled threateningly, but the younger clearly didn't take it to heart.

"If you had so much of that talent you were talking about, you would've figured out a hairstyle for me already." Shotaro replied sassily.

"You little-" Yuta began, but was promptly interrupted.

"Don't be so mean. I'm sure you can figure out something for Shotaro too?" Soomin asked, puppy eyes on display as she turned to face him.

After a few short seconds of inner struggle, Yuta let out a long labored sigh as he continued working on her hair. "Just let me finish this and I'll do a hairstyle for you too, Shotaro."

"Really, yes! Soomin, you're the best!" The young boy exclaimed excitedly, making Soomin erupt into sweet giggles.

"I see Soomin has really grown on everybody here."

All three of them turned towards the entry of the living room, seeing the leader of NCT standing there and leaning against the door frame.

Yuta was clearly flustered, tying the hair tie very loosely as he eagerly let go of Soomin.

Taeyong only smiled at his embarrassment, attention soon turning to the young girl. "Hey, may I have a word?"

"Hm? Yeah, sure." Soomin smiled, immediately hauling herself up from the floor.

The leader then turned to the other two boys. "Don't worry, I won't keep her long. Then you can continue your little... hair styling party." He chuckled.

And not wanting to hear Yuta's angry threats, they walked off.

The two walked into Taeyong's office, the leader taking his usual seat behind the desk whilst Soomin settled on the chair in front of it. She could tell everything wasn't perfectly okay and that what they would talk about was serious, therefore she sat in silence so he would begin speaking.

Taeyong let out a long sigh. "You've been here for a very long time, you know."

"Yeah... I know." Soomin answered.

"And it's obvious that you've grown really attached to this place."
"Yeah."

"But the more you stay here, the more dangerous it is for everyone." Taeyong relaxed in his chair. "Every single day I'm feeling more and more anxious for the safety of myself, my members and you. Although there is barely any evidence left behind, something in my gut is telling me that the police and your father's secret agents may be catching on. We need to do something soon, or something bad may happen."

"I know, I'm sorry..." Soomin let out a long sigh, having known that this conversation would re-emerge eventually. "Here, I have an idea. When you guys receive the money from my dad, I will go back and convince my dad to not look for you. Does that sound good?"

"Soomin..." Taeyong muttered, looking down into his lap. He then leaned over, reaching the small cupboard beside his desk and pulled out one of the drawers. From there, he took out a large white envelope and slowly slid it in front of the girl.

Soomin stared at it blankly, before everything clicked and she looked up.

"He already paid you?"

"A majority of the money asked has already been paid, yes." Taeyong nodded. "It will be done in 1 or 2 more payments."

The girl bit down on her bottom lip, feeling her stomach churn with discomfort. She knew that delaying her leave was bad for everyone here. That she could deeply hurt them. But she really didn't want to leave, she really did not want to come back to her house and marry that asshole.

"I know I have to leave soon. I get that part." She began speaking in quiet and hesitant voice. "But I don't know when I'll be able to see everyone again. I very much like, no, love this place and I really, really do not wanna leave."

"I'm still shocked that you think that way of us, but I can tell you've made some good bonds here." Taeyong chuckled. "And trust me, I'd like to keep you here too. But it's just not possible."

A silence arose between them, but was promptly interrupted by the leader.

"How about this: in a couple of days, you'll go back there on your own. Try to soothe your dad and divert his attention, so they won't try to look for us. We'll keep our distance until it's safe, but after that, you'll be able to meet whoever you like. I'll make sure of it. And about your marriage..." Taeyong paused for a little, before a smirk came up to his face. "I don't really have to worry about that yet since Donghyuck himself won't let that go through."

Soomin couldn't help but laugh at his comment.

"Alright, go on now! Before Yuta manages to kill Taro for being so nice to him." Taeyong waved her off and Soomin immediately got up, telling him a small 'goodbye' before running out the door.

"Look, Soomin, he made a palm tree on my head!"
"It's not a palm tree, it's a ponytail, you just don't have long hair."
"I rather call it a palm tree thank you very much."
"You little shi-"
