Ch.17:The Military Police

The next day, after dropping off Furlan at the daycare. You and Levi go to meet Commander Erwin to discuss about the  information you've found out and whether to release the prisoner early.

You knock on the Commander's door.

*Knock knock*

On the other side comes his voice, "Come in." He says.

Levi steps in first and you follow through.

"Take a seat." Erwin says with a slight smile as he looks from Levi to you. The both of you sit down in front of his wooden study desk. Commander sitting at his desk leans foward and clasps his hands together with his elbows prop up on the table.

"I presume you guys found out some information, since you're here." Erwin says.

You give your salute nodding as you reply, "Yes, turns out the prisoner can speak and he gave us a slight description of the person who told him to pass the note."

Levi places his notebook he had been taking notes on and slides it across the wooden surface to Erwin. Erwin silently opens it and read the contents.

"Wearing a uniform with a horse crest ." Erwin mumbles as he read, he lifts his gaze toward Levi, who gazes silently back at him.

"So you think this may be one of the military police." Erwin says.

"According to the prisoner's description, who has black hair,narrow dark eyes and a mustache." Levi glance back at Erwin with more of a question than a statement.

Erwin brushes his fingers through his blonde hair, and leans back on his office chair as he crosses his arms across his chest, "Let me think." Erwin says as he cups his chin with his fingers. "The only one I can think of right now, is Nile."

Levi blinks at Erwin as he says, "Nile, Nile Dok, the one that wanted Eren dead."

Erwin nods, as he says, " That's the only one I can think of right now." Erwin glances at Levi who is staring out the window. Erwin speaks up again, "Levi, don't do anything rash for now. It's only an assumption."

Levi looks back at Erwin and says, "I know. I'm only going to give him a visit." For a brief second you thought Levi's expression darken as he stares back out the window.

Levi suddenly stands up from his seat, "And the prisoner, what do you think we should do about him?" Levi asks.

"Well, like you suggested I think halting his jail time would be a nice reward for giving us some information. Assuming that nothing serious will come out of this." Erwin says.

Levi gives a slight nod.

Now as you and Levi stand by Erwin's door ready to leave. Commander puts a hand on Levi's shoulder as Erwin says, "I trust you to not make this a bigger situation than it does involving your team under your command. However, with the bad reputation that the military police already had.  By all means, do what you think is right to die down this current."

Levi looks down at the rug covering the wooden floor then looks back up at Erwin, "I'll see what we can do."

At that Levi left Erwin's office. You give a slight bow to the Commander.

Commader Erwin let out a sigh, "Be careful." he says as he looks at you.

You give him a reassuring nod, "We'll report back to you as soon as possible. Thank you for your worries, Commander." And left to follow Levi down the hall, closing the door gently behind you. Leaving Commander Erwin just a bit worried to what will happen.
