Levi X Reader 3

Ch. 3 : Times

"Ready. Steady. Go!" Nanaba shouts, as her arm chops down through the air like a racing flag.

Everyone's hands grips on the handle of their gear. Strings of hooks sprints out at every angle as everyone lifts off and zips through the cool November air.

You swing towards a tree, your boots steps off the thick trunk, chipping small pieces of bark off as the sole of your boots steps hard onto it and you lift yourself into the air once more. You can feel the adrenaline rushing through your body. It feels really good, and you want more.

Mikasa zips past you at great speed. You press on your gear, as a strong burst of air shoots out of the gas tanks, you shoot your hooks at the right timing to grip the trees ahead. Lunging yourself foward just behind Mikasa. Mikasa glances back slightly at your speed and quickly flips to the side as Eren comes passing by.

"In coming!" Renier shouts as he pulls a branch back, and you watch it snap back and wacks poor Armin in the face, making him flip back and land wobbly onto a lower thicker tree branch.
"Oof, ouch!" Armin sounded.

His voice fades to the back, as you hurried your way. Even though you want to help him, it kind of is a race.

Up ahead, there was a giant tree split into two at the top, you made your way through it, while the others went on the side, you see Connie and Sasha swing back in toward you, as you lunge toward.

They are coming to close.

You see Connie with a slight smirk on his face, his arm coming toward your face. You try to dodge it by leaning back as your whole body swings foward. Just barely his hand grazes the top of your nose, but was quickly kicked away, as Sasha comes in kicking Connie's arm away from your face.

"Don't you try to ambush ___!" Sasha says as she swings around to race beside you.

You give her a thankful smile. As you see Connie coming in close beside you, you pointed to the distance.

"Connie, look! Krista." you shout. Connie looking to the direction of the sunlight sipping through the trees. "Gah!" Connie sounded as he slows down.

As Levi told all of you, the hill was indeed steep, as the trees begin to ascend. All of you lunging upward at the direction of the trees. Up ahead you can see Levi and Jean almost a speck of dust in the distance. While the rest of you were just having fun zipping through the trees. But since the trees are going upward, it rather feels like rock climbing through the trees.

A good 30 minutes time had passed since the start of the race, and you could see the trees getting much more clearer as it disperse and let more light into view.

The gradient blocks of stones that made up the bell tower on top of the hill is now visible. As the wind blows, the sound of leaves rustles against each other echoes in your ears.

"Wow they're there already." Sasha chimes excitedly as she swings side to side beside you.

At the bell tower, you can see Levi leaning against one of the stone arches that decorated the four sides where a bronze bell was hanging. Mike stands idly another the same arch, as Jean sits on the base of the arch. Nanaba waves excitedly at all of you yo come over where they are gathered in.

Soon your boots made contact with the top of the stone wall. You smile at everyone, as Connie lands beside you with a wide grin on his face.

"So, who won?" Connie chimes with
anticipation.

Everyone looks at Mike, as his index finger points slowly toward......

Jean...then at Levi.

Everyone looks at him with raised eyebrows.

"Hold on. What does this mean.." Renier says as he glances at Mike then Nanaba, as if she knew exactly what Mike had just gestured.

"There can't be two winners, right?" Connie says with a sigh of frustration.

"There can be...but." Eren was just about to say, but was cut off by Sasha who says, "Looking at the possibilities of this pair."

"It's impossible." Connie finishes.

Jean stands up from his sitting position angrily, "Hey! Are you saying, it's impossible for me to beat Captain Levi."

Sasha and Connie both look at Jean with a deadpan face, imitating Levi as they say mercilessly,
"Impossible...o..o...O..O"

You can see the side of Jean's mouth twitch, as Marco lightly pats Jean's shoulder to calm him down.

"Okay the thing is Mike didn't know Captain Levi was standing on the roof of the bell tower when Jean arrived. So we didn't know for sure who came first." Nanaba explains.

"How about this." Jean raises his hand dramatically into the air as he says,
" One last round to settle the deal."

"This time instead of betting on money. We'll bet on something more....physical." Jean suggests as he takes a glance at you with a light blush on his face.

"WHAT?!" everyone except Mikasa and Levi sounded.

"Dude, that sounds a bit weird." Connie says.

"Yeah." Sasha agrees as she cotinues to say, "What do you mean by 'Physical', like 'physical activities'?"

Sasha and Connie starts throwing questions at Jean, like it was an interrogation.

"No, what are you guys getting at?" Jean retorts back at them.

"Then why are you blushing?!" Connie asks.

"Because I just realize it sounded a bit wrong after it came out." Jean says.

Renier sighs and looks out into the distance, as the dramatic trio continue to question each other.

Sasha starts eating a potato out of no where, as she hands you a small piece. You take it as you gaze at the clouds, enjoying getting back together with the Survey Corps.

You glance at Levi. As a bell sounded in the distance. Signifying there is an hour left before lunch.

Levi catches you glancing at him. Then Levi looks at Nanaba.
"We better get going." Levi says.

Everyone stops their chatting. As Sasha gives you a quick hug, which you hug back warmly.

"We'll train again next time. Since the deal hasn't been settled." you say.

Before you leave, Levi turns toward Jean with half lided eyes, "Think about what you want to do next. I'll accept your challenge, whatever it may be."

Everyone looks at Levi.

"He's changed." Connie whispers under his breathe.

"Having a family definitely changed him, hasn't it." Sasha says, still chowing down on her potato.

"Yeah, it feels like he's gotten...softer." Armin says.

Renier looks at the both of you disappearing among the trees.

The eight of them now walking toward the mass hall.

Connie grabs Jean before they enter the dining area. "We gotta talk about this." Connie pulls on Jean out to the side as hard as he could despite Jean's tall stature. "You guys go on ahead, we won't take long." Connie says to the others, they walk on knowing all too well what Connie is going to talk about with Jean.

"I know you can't talk right when you see her. But for goodness sake, she's a married woman now. Moreover, to Levi Ackerman." Connie says as he taps Jean's shoulder a bit too harshly.

Jean sighs out of frustration, "I know. But I can't help it." Jean rubs the back of his neck as he says, "Time flies too fast, and I didn't have a chance to...." Jean quickly shrugs it off and begin to walk back to the entrance of the mass hall. Connie follows after.

Inside a large office, someone felt the same way Jean did. His blue eyes scans the pages of paper laid out in front him.  Commander Erwin leans back in his armchair with a deep sigh.

It's almost the end of November, just another month and this year would end.

Where have all the times gone?
